Enjoy a safe after-dark kayaking adventure to experience the bioluminescence of Mosquito Bay. Paddle in clear and semi-clear-bottomed kayaks so you'll feel totally surrounded by the glowing waters on the island of Vieques. Since this activity takes place on a separate island, visitors need to take a ferry or flight and stay overnight on the island (not included).

The meeting point is on Calle Flamboyan, four houses south of the Green Store, across from a yellow and green house, directly next to Rainbow Realty. To do this tour you have to stay overnight at Vieques Island. You have to take a ferry from Ceiba or a plane from San Juan or Ceiba.

Witness the glowing waters of Mosquito Bay on this kayaking tour from Vieques. The experience requires an overnight stay on Vieques, accessible by ferry or plane from the main island of Puerto Rico (not included). Choose from two start times and make your own way to the meeting point for a ride to the bay, alongside a small group.
Don your life jacket and explore the bioluminescent bay in clear-bottomed kayaks, allowing for unobstructed views of the glowing waters. Your guide explains the science behind the natural phenomenon and guides you through the dark. After 1.5 hours of paddling, your tour concludes with a ride back to the starting point.

I took the 9pm tour w Carlos I think was his name(my apologies )he was a wonderful guide, got us in kayaks before moonlight safely. He was very informative the Dinoflagellates were out of this world. The constellations was a amazing touch I took this tour solo and lost for words at the beauty

We travelled with our kids and with our friends and their kids. We were all very excited to start our journey to the Bio-Luminescent Bay for a unique experience. There are many companies to book with but we chose this particular one because it ADVERTISED in the description GLASS BOTTOM BOAT. We figured that would be a great and unique experience for us especially our kids to experience the glowing effect of the bay. However, this was NOT the case. The Kayaks did not have the glass bottom for viewing. When approached via email not very receptive. In addition, we were told to reach at point of pickup at 8:40pm but the tour guide did not reach until 9:00pm. Once we travelled to the site it was a rush to enter the kayaks and pushed out not knowing where to exactly kayak to. Poor visibility of instructor and instructions.

Your tour time was 9:00 p.m., this is what you booked and what was listed on your confirmation. We do ask all guests to arrive early in order to ensure that the tour can go out on time, this is typical for all excursions. You would certainly have a complaint if another group of people on your tour time arrived late, resulting in an actual delay of the tour. Leaving at 9:00 for a 9:00 tour does not make us late, nor does it entitle you to a refund for your party of eight (8) people as you requested (twice).
We do not advertise GLASS bottom kayaks; a. because we do not have them and b. because glass bottoms would be completely impractical. The bottom viewing windows are plastic, as are the rest of the kayaks.

Lulu was a great guide and the experience was amazing!! Must do activity in Vieques .
Got to see the beautiful bio luminous bay as soon as we started paddling .. Cloudy or new moon day would be the best time to do this

Touring the bio bay was a very unique experience and we recommend it! We had low expectation for how bright it would be and we were pleasantly surprised. We also found the science part very interesting.

Overall, good experience. The guide was nice and friendly.. but I assumed the kayak was glass bottom. Other tours had glass bottom kayak but this particular one doesn’t. I wish they mentioned it in the description.
