Excellent! The guide was very kind and we snorkled a lot. Recommend for bigger groups that want a private tour.
This is a private tour. If you are solo and want to book for cheaper then wait until you are in zanzibar to book.

Horrible experience. Driver came 1h late. We were with the dolphin not even 5 minutes. I would not recommand this trip. It’s actually worth 0 start !

I cant recommend Sultan Tours. We had booked two tours with them during our stay.
Trip 1: Unfortunately we were sick and wanted to rescedule the trip. We contaced them 3 hours before the trip. They told us it wasnt possible anymore, as the driver was already at the hotel (3 hours befor pick up?) and we would have to book it again (which we didnt). We then asked for a possible partial refund. They were very communicative at first and asked us to go thru viator as we booked the trip with them. This would take a few days. So we did that. After we did the second trip, they told the agency that they wouldnt give a partial refund and blocked our number on whatsapp and didnt respond to any communication anymore...
Trip 2: We booked the private Delfine Tour with pick up at 7am. They asked us to pick up already at 6am, as the chances to see dolphins where higher in the morning and there would be less people. We agreed. Pick up worked fine and we were on the sea with just 3 more boats at the beginning. But then we didnt went dolphin watching, first they took as snorkeling and we waited so so long to look for dolphins, that at that point we were on the sea with around 50 other boats.
In addition they dont respect the dolphins at all. As soon as one boat sees one, all the boats start chasing them, cutting of their way, circling them and pushing them.in other directions.
Also please note that you can no longer visit the island mnemba, as it has been privatized. So you will just we driving around the island, not allowed to set foot on it. We were not informed about this prior to the tour, nor was it mentioned anywhere.

Hi Eric,
Based on the cancelation policy it is not possible to refund a trip canceled very last minute, 24 hours before the pickup time, you did canceled last hour before the trip, its is not possible since we have reserved everything for you so we cant replace the booking last minute to maintain the standards. If a trip cancelled 24 hours before the trip, no questions are asked, it an automatic refund.
Yes you did book mnemba trip with us, and you had a great time on the trip, we are so surprised with your negative review and false statements claiming we did blocked you, how can we blocked a guest, for what?
There is no touristic attraction inside the Mnemba Island, thats why you cant visit inside, if there was an attraction, then people would have visit the Island, but there is nothing to see there, It is just a hotel inside the Island. The only attraction is the reef at Mnemba, where we go and where we do advertise it on the trip description.
During the trip we go to look for dolphins, snorkeling at Mnemba Island reef and also go to the Sandbank (Sandbank can be affected by tides as it completely covered on hightide)

Never responded when contacted and claimed to arrive 30 minutes late after i had to book with someone else last minute. Refused to give me a refund and i had to dispute the charge with my credit card company.

Fun to see the dolphins and the snorkeling was very good. The 2 locals on the boat were very good about listening to what we wanted to do, and also led us around the reef when snorkeling, seeing lots of things.
The evening before the tour, we got an email asking to change the pickup time from 9 to 7. We replied that was fine, but apparently emails take a long time to reach the recipients, and they said they never received it. So we waited 2 hours for our pickup. Instead of a reply button, they should have said to call if that’s the only reliable way to get in touch.

From the planing process few months before, to the end of it, it was a 5-star excellent service.
Ahmed who helped us with all the big and small questions about the trip was amazing. This helped us a lot on what we need, how it works etc.
He was very helpful, he listed to us, he answered all our question and genuinely very nice guy.
We definitely recommend doing it!

After the booking was done. I spent one day between viator and the tour organizer to change the place of pick up. The tour operator did not want or could not do the necessary steps. During the tour absolutely no explanation have been provided to snorkeling beginners. After the dolphin watching we have been snorkeling and the boat captain gave food to the fishes so that they could come close.

Hi Lorenzo_c, Customer feedback is very important to The Sultan Tours. We take all customer concerns seriously.
We would like to confirm that we are not responsible for any amendments on bookings via Viator or any OTA's as we don't have access to do that, we can only see and view but can't change any details so for any amendments you will need to contact Viator or you can just do it from there backends.
We can only make ammendments on bookings from our website (direct bookings).
Also we do have an instructor on board, you can always request him incase you need any assistance or help. We did questioned the instructor who went with you on the trip after just saw this review and he replied that you did wish to train your partner by yourself on how to use the snorkel and they waited for you to do that till she was ready.

Excellent experience. Traveled with my mom who has some difficulty swimming. Ahmed and his staff were happy to help her snorkel and ensured we both enjoyed the beautiful underwater sea-life!
