Horrible time in Stone Town

Terrible experience. Tour operators were not friendly at all. The description was not accurate and we didn’t get to snorkel as mentioned. Would not recommend this tour! Was told we could get a refund and was never given one. We up booking through our hotel for a tour that included swimming with turtles. Book with your resort you won’t regret!

Ibrahim is an amazing guide. Very knowledgeable about so many things. The tour at the spice farm, he explained all the spices and their use in food as well as their medicinal use. The walking part of the tour in Stone Town was also very informative. He knew where all the cool doors are! An amazing guide!

At first thank you to our Tourguide Mr. Abas. It was very good and may one of the best tours in Zanzibar. At first we visit the spicefarm, second stop was the prison Island and last but not least Stone Town. All in all it was very good. 👍🏻

There was not much of a tour. They picked me up late (not a bid deal), and then essentially just took me places, with little explanation. Not a tour, more like just follow some guy and just let me read the signs where we were. You can find a better tour and a much cheaper one. Not worth the price and did not get to learn much.

A wonderful experience and time which we’ll remember for a long time.

Ali, our guide was most informative and attentive. We felt he’d become a part of our family. One of our members was recently injured and was traveling with a wheelchair. Ali was most accommodating about her limits. Even then we saw and experienced everything we wanted to.

Really enjoyable day. Prompt collection & lovely vehicle. Spice farm was amazing. Next was Prison Island. The boat is small to get you across & the sea was very choppy but it’s only a short distance. Saw the giant tortoises & that was great. Then a walk through Stone Town. Fascinating. The market is something to behold!

The sites I saw were great, but the guide could have been better. Prison Island is great but as the guide thereafter rushed through Stonetown, the trip was like 2 hours shorter than expected and I did not have any free time at all.

Mohammed, our guide was excellent who gave us an overview into local culture. Stone town tour very good, spice farm not so good. Bumpy ride on boat to Prison Island which was very picturesque but only needs one hour.

The tour operator was excellent! They arrived at the cruise ship terminal on time and had our guide and driver waiting. Rose was knowledgeable about Zanzibar and accomplished everything on the itinerary. We asked to do a little shopping and have some lunch to try local cuisine and she accommodated both those requests as well. We had a great day in Zanzibar! The boat ride over to prison island was an experience in itself! Rose was very good with timing everything so we arrived back to the cruise ship in plenty of time.

We were meet on time by our guide and taken to a spice farm that was fantastic, The operators of this location were fantastic and made it fun while learning aobut the spices. We given a breif history on Stone town during our second part of the tour although we learnt alot, we feel there was more infomation that could have been shared,whilst walking around.We enjoyed the locations that we were taken to. Travelling by boat to the Island to visit the Prison was intertesting and a pleasure to see that they are saving the turtles. The only issue we had was a lunch where the guide joined us and then expected us to pay for his lunch (considering what he had) had we known prior there would have been no issues.

Spice farm was the best part of the trip. Our guide Ibrahim was very knowledged about plants and usages of spices. Prison island and Stone town part was bit miss but likely due to extreme heat that consumed us.
