Enjoy an afternoon of horseback riding or a relaxing snorkeling excursion in the pristine sea, where colorful fish and unique aquatic life abound. Hop on a dune buggy to explore the area or book an ATV adventure that concludes with a stop at the beach. Dozens of lively watering holes provide travelers with the perfect spot to cool off with cold beer and frozen drinks. Freshly prepared lobster is a popular choice for hungry travelers to tuck into during a beachside lunch.
Although this beach is less developed than others, you’ll still find local vendors hawking their wares.
When swimming, watch your belongings, and don't bring valuables in case of theft.

You can reach Rincón Beach on horseback, by car (you’ll need to walk the last stretch), or via boat. It’s about 21 miles (34 kilometers) from Samaná, roughly a 51-minute drive. It’s close to the town of Las Galeras, where you’ll find excursions, many via horseback, that travel through the surrounding mountains to the beach.
The best days to visit Rincón Beach are during the week when you’ll encounter fewer crowds. On the weekends and holidays, locals from Las Galeras and other nearby towns tend to visit this beach. After 2pm, it will empty out as most day-trippers depart. Also, between mid-January and late March, humpback whales migrate to the waters of Samaná Bay, drawing groups of tourists.
A popular natural swimming pool, the emerald Cano Frío River joins the ocean on the western end of Playa Rincón—away from the larger tourist crowds on the eastern end. Both locals and visitors enjoy cooling off here while multiple food vendors serve regional specialities. Further inland along the river, you’ll run into denser forests where the waters are lined with mangroves.
