Among all the Maya caves in Belize, Barton Creek Cave is unique: a tall river cave that was once used for sacrificial purposes and can be explored only by canoe. The most striking feature is a stalactite so low, you occasionally will have to duck into the canoe to avoid getting struck. But the ride to the end is well worth it.

A magical day
Such an amazing day. Our guide Rudy was awesome. We learned so much about the Mayan traditions. The cave exploring was incredible, something I have always wanted to do. The butterfly farm was just magical.

Wow!!
Francisco was super friendly and very knowledgeable about the Mayans. The experience he gave us canoeing in Barton Creek Cave was amazing!! We say many breathtaking structures and had quite an adventure squeezing through and under tight places. I would totally recommend this tour, especially if Francisco is your guide!!

Caves + Waterfall with our 4 & 6 year old
We ended up with a private tour, and had an absolute fantastic time with our guide throughout the caves and the waterfalls. Swimming in the crystal clear waters of Barton Creek was probably the highlight, but the entire day was amazing. And totally child friendly/child-captivating.

So we paddled into a cave…
A big thank you to Marlon for guiding us into the the depths of the Mayan underworld and back. Cave canoeing was an amazing experience and Marlon made it fun, safe, and provided great information. The snacks were great too.
