Fun-filled trip worth taking

We had a wonderful day although the weather wasn’t as good. If not the sites we went were worth while then the driver was. All in all a fantastic trip which we would recommend to anyone who likes to discover more about the area.

Silves. Castle & Town were best. Johnny was a great guide & v interesting. We were dropped in Lagos for 1 hour at 0930 but cathedral & old slave market not open till 10am & therefore not enough time to see either of these which was disappointing.

The guide was very hapefull and positive he really wanted to show us everything worth to see. We were travelling with a baby and there were car seat available for us. We had a great time!

We highly recommend this tour to anyone who wants to experience the history of Portugal and to see so much more of the incredible beauty of the Algarve than just the magnificent beaches. Our guide Johnny was knowledgeable, funny and when my husband thought he left his favorite hat behind at one of the stops, Johnny offered to retrieve it on his next trip there and mail it to us. Fortunately my husband found the hat at the bottom of his bag, but Johnny’s kind offer was above and beyond and greatly appreciated.

We were collected from the pick up point, right on time. John our driver and guide was knowledgeable and enthusiastic on all subjects and kept us entertained throughout the long day. A great balance of travel and excursion times. Being only a small 16 seater there was little time lost through loading and unloading passengers and waiting for the inevitable stragglers. Thoroughly enjoyed the day and would recommend it. May not be well suited to the very young.

Incredible views, fantastic tour guide

This tour was fantastic and we had such a pleasant tour guide! It was great to see different parts of the Algarve, from the most westerly point to the highest point with interesting stops between. You get 1 hour stops in Lagos and Silves, with other shorter stops in between. Highlights included going to the “end of the world,” seeing the incredible view from the highest point in the Algarve and our driver stopping to allow us take photos of stork nests! We definitely got to see things we wouldn’t have by not doing this trip, I also really enjoyed the smaller group sizes. We opted for the lunch which was nice, particularly as it took the pressure off trying to eat during the day, but do listen to the tour guide and get the black pork! Would love to do another trip like this again, especially with a such a fantastic tour guide like we had this time - I think we all learned so much about Portugal and the Algarve.

Great full day tour of western Algarve, all stops in excellent locations. Fantastic, humorous driver/guide Johhny in comfortable mini bus. Lunch was extra including wine, but well worth extra cost.

Interesting nut not very comfortable. Unable to see muchwhen moving. Would not do it again in that vehicle.

The Church St. Anthony, the lunch, St. Vincent The most memorable part was not being able to see a darn thing from the van as were seated in the very back. All other passengers had a window but at the back there is none. We were always craning our necks or turning to look out the back window. It was not pleasant at all.

Pickup was right on time. A good way to spend a day. Driver made journey fun and interesting and we felt in safe hands. Lagos and Silves were the most enjoyable stops.

Johnny was our driver. Funny, informative. Had a small bus, held approx. 16 people, perfect size. Took our own lunch, did not take the lunch option.

If you don’t have a car and first time here, good to see the glance of the area. Lots of driving. Lunch is the worst as they took us to one spot only (nothing else around the area) and felt like forced to participate and paid $22 euro and food was not that good. This should be mentioned in the tour.

The tour guide cum driver was very knowledgeable and cracked jokes so the trip would not be just a monotonous sightseeing only trip . its a good trip if you only have few days in your holidays but want to cover more places.

Disappointed and not impressed

All the sight seeing stops were well worthy of a visit. The driver gave us lots of interesting information along the way. But we wasted an hour stopping at a restaurant for lunch and then another 15 mins at a “liquor tasting”. Both were clearly mutually beneficial arrangements for the service providers. I had taken a packed lunch but had to sit and wait until everyone else had eaten lunch. Where we stopped, there was nothing to do. A 5 minute drive up the hill was a beautiful little village which would have been nice to explore. The poor driver was on a very strict schedule and then had to cut the trip short as the minibus was wanted for an airport transfer. We were put into another car and taken back to our hotels. The tour was at least an hour short of the advertised hours. Overall, too rushed unfortunately.

The driver/ guide Johnny. The mountains, which wevwould have personally liked more tine at, rather than at Silves were you had to walk up a sreep hill, to find once again that adnission wasnt free. Lunch was ovwrpriced for what we got.
