Learn to make chocolate from bean to bar during this private workshop in Arequipa. Your host first tells you about the history of chocolate-making in the area which stretches back to the Aztec kings. Then, get your hands dirty as you learn to roast, grind, and process your cocoa beans to create your own chocolate bar as well as a traditional chocolate drink.

    This was such an amazing experience. We were super lucky and it was only the two of us so we had our very own workshop. Andrés was great, so knowledgeable, engaging and friendly. He made the workshop fun and super interesting. We learnt so much and genuinely just had a great time. Plus got to take home chocolates! The tasting was awesome and making the chocolate drink from scratch was fab. 100% recommended!

    Was just a fun few hours with some great people. Had an excellent teacher who made it fun. Learned a lot about real chocolate and actually made our own. Great time!

    It was a last minute reservation and toke my teen niece. She really enjoyed the chocolate making. & the information provided was great. We learned so much and had a good time. Our chocolateier was very friendly, energetic and seemed like he enjoyed what he did.

    I forget the guides name, but he was our bartender for dinner at the restaurant. It was really fun. The guide takes you through each process of chocolate making. Starting from seeing and holding a real chocolate pod, then handling chocolate beans and prepping them to be roasted and then mashing it in a mortar to make it a creamy chocolate and eventually you’ll go back downstairs to make your own chocolate with toppings and then trying different chocolates to see if they’re real or fake and how much cocoa is in each. It was really fun and I highly recommend it.
