The tour is well organized. Although driving 3 hours one way is tiring and I don't know if it is worth it. The pick up time was 03:30am. We visited Colca valley and Canyon, everything afterwards was not needed. The canyon is nice but not breathtaking. However, we saw condors there. Hot springs and town in the canyon were there just to fill up the time before lunch. After lunch we headed back to Arequipa and returned at 05:30pm.

The organizer packs too many, too different things in this one day trip. Would be better to focus on one or two aspects and not combine everything with everything (skip the leasire activities and go mor for countryside, nature and culture: leasur is something else)!

We weren’t able to actually go to Colca Canyon because locals were protesting and closed the road there. When the road finally opened up near the end of our tour, our tour guide asked us if we wanted to still go to Colca canyon, letting us know we would be returning to our hotels much later than the scheduled time. Everybody in the van except one person was down to go as they had dinner plans, so we all had to turn back and leave without going to Colca canyon after driving out all that way. It was disappointing but our tour guide tried his best. It was a lot of time in the van, but was still nice to see the views. Definitely felt the altitude when we went to the highest point.

Gustavo was an excellent and attentive guide. The itinerary was a full day with a 3am start. Those wishing for longer than an hour with the condors at Colca Canyon may benefit from other tours that give more time there. The day felt like good value for money.

Too cramped, too much time in van

We read mixed reviews about this tour before booking it, but proceeded anyway. We wish we had heeded the other reviews. Overall, this tour was much too much time in a van. Seven hours is too long to be sitting in cramped, uncomfortable minivan with 12+ other people. The temperature in the van was too cold in the morning and too hot in the afternoon. The breakfast was just average and was served in a freezing cold room. The lunch was pretty good. Seeing the condors was obviously the highlight of the trip, but we also expected to see different parts of the actual canyon. We thought it would be similar to our experience on a visit to the USA Grand Canyon; it was not. We stopped in several places during the drive, but they were just “fillers”. They did not add anything to the tour. It was more of a pain-in-the-neck getting off and on the cramped bus. We rarely provide reviews, but this tour was our least favorite of all the tours we did in Peru. We wish we had saved our money (and more importantly, our time) and stayed in Arequipa for the day.

Great trip in the Colca...

Great trip in the Colca valley! Includes several activities to choose from (short hike at the edge of the canyon, watching condors, hot springs, atv tour, horseback riding, ziplining), as well as seeing alpacas in the wild. Keep in mind high altitude, most happens at 3300-3700m, however there is a crossing at 4900m+, plan accordingly (acclimatization, coca leaves, altitude medicine).

We really liked our day at the colca canyon. We stopped at multiple view points and small towns. Our guide Nelson had a lot of knowledge, we learned so much! He also worked very hard with the driver so we could see condors even though we were not in the best season and it was very cloudy at the condor's cross (and it worked!). Thank you for this experience.

You MUST visit Colca Canyon when you’re in Arequipa - one of the most unique experiences. We didn’t have time for a 2 day+ tour so chose this one and we weren’t disappointed - hits all the major spots in one day, with an excellent tour guide!

One Day Trip will be a heavy trip

We were picked up at our private Apartment, it was a spontaneous thing, most of the agencies want you to come to the main plaza (Plaza de Armas). We were picked up at 3:30AM which was quite hard although we slept 4-5 hours. The breakfast was OK (bread, eggs, jam) the lunch was really good (--> lunch needs to be included, otherwise it will be 35 Soles). It was nice to have a lot of stations, different spots where we made a stop and see condors or relax in the thermal springs BUT the day will be quite tough you should know that! My girlfriend and me are fit (HipHop Dancers) but this day was exhausting and we were tired until we returned to Arequipa (3 hours driving). Our guide, Allesandro, gave us a lot of informations, he was very kind and had a lot of knowledge!

Our Colca Canyon Experience

The guide, Angel, was excellent as he translated his Spanish presentation into English for the two of us. Everyone else were native Spanish speakers. He was knowledgeable and responded well to our questions. We really enjoyed the Colca Canyon and the other places we visited. The only thing that wasn't excellent is that my legs were a bit cramped during the trip. I am six feet tall. Everything else including the great buffet lunch were top notch.

Pedro was a fantastic guide! He and Eduardo (our driver) made sure that we had a comfortable and enjoyable time. Although we got a little stuck in the mud in the morning (there was a freak accident on the highway that we tried to circumvent off-road), they ensured that we made up for lost time. We even got to see some condors in flight, which was a real highlight. Well worth the money and the early morning!

Really excellent one day colca canyon tour. The guide spoke excellent English and had a huge amount of knowledge, attended to the needs of all the full group. Had enough time at each attraction and didn’t feel at all rushed. A great way to see the canyon if you are pressed for time

Es bello el valle del Colca y la Cruz del Condor y su mirador. En lo personal me afecto la altura y sufri las consecuencias despues de las Termas. Recomendaria una advertencia con mayor detalle para que el visitante vaya preparado al efecto. Pero lo anterior, no obsta a que recomiende que realicen esta visita.
