Well worth it!!!
Juanita_R, May 2023
The Somme tour was an important part of our itinerary for family history and although this was not the first choice I think it may be one of the best choices. Our guide Ron progressively ran through all stages of the battles and customised it to suit our small mixed group gave tips on other tours and information should we want to learn more. We had limited time and Ron really packed it in and was passionate on his subject.

A wonderful tour of history and charming villages. Easy pick up in Arras and a well prepared van for a day of travel.

I think whatever Jacqui doesn’t know about WW1 is not worth knowing. Her knowledge was unbelievable. And for her to not only know the Australian story, but the Canadian, Newfoundland (very important!) American (who knew!?) and British stories intimately - unbelievable. Taking us to sites that we didn’t think we would get to see, this tour is just the best. Thanks for an unforgettable day. We thoroughly loved every second of it.

Hi Joel- it is always a privilege to share the stories of those who fought here, and after 22 years we have amassed a wealth of them from our research, thank you for your review.

This day trip was excellent. We caught the train from Paris and were collected at the train station at promised. Travel by air conditioned van which was very comfortable. Rod's commentary was interesting and he's obviously very knowledgeable. Thank you. We both enjoyed the day.

Excellent tour. They provided a thorough perspective on the history of this important battlefield in World War I. It was a thought provoking experience and seeing the tunnels and trenches and getting a sense of what it must have been like and seeing the memorials was profoundly moving. The guide was incredibly knowledgeable about all aspects of the Somme. I brought my children along 2 and 13 because I believe it is important for them to know about these things and that they not be forgotten about. My children loved the tour and I think it will provide a foundation for a future greater understanding of history and the world we inherited and in which we live.

This was an amazing tour and our Guide was so knowledgeable. The included meal was in her home, baked by her! This added to the cultural experience of the tour. She went out of her way, at the end of the day, to find the cemetry and find the grave of my uncle. She led us in saying the Oath! VERY SPECIAL. We would HIGHLY recommend this tour and it was cost effective!

We were in Arras for the Vimy Ridge 100 year Memorial We were extremely pleased with Jacquie's information, she took us to many sites that we would not have been able to locate. She kept the information on point and managed to manoeuver our small group through many large tours that were attending some sites at the same time. Would highly recommend and when we return will definitely rebook.

An excellent tour with a very knowledgeable tour guide. It was well structured and really brought the scale and locations of the battles to life. It was a small group and our guide made every effort to tailor the visits to suit what we wanted to see. We were able to stay at Thiepval to attend the memorial service and she had researched where to find the names if our relatives who were killed in the battle. I would definitely recommend it and we have booked other Viator tours because we enjoyed this one so much.

If you are looking for French history, pick this company! Knowledge was the best, took time to explain the different areas and even though we had the WW1 tour, Ron explained about events that took place in WW2 in our area.He picked us up from our hotel and started the tour before he had us driving! He took the time and patience with my special needs adult son to make him feel at home and enjoy the trip! The Battlefields Experience - If you are in the area, USE THIS COMPANY! You wont regret it!

Fantastic day. Jackie was not only highly knowledgable but also very entertaining. I was there to try and find out more about my Great-Uncle who fought with the 1st Battalion Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers and Jackie was a great help to the extent of driving to a point where I could get a good view of the slope where they would have attacked across on 1st July 1916. Lunch was very good and all-in-all a really interesting day and well worth it. Highly recommended.

What a fantastic day, worth every penny! Rod our guide was incredibly knowledgeable. The whole day was very relaxed yet we managed to fit so much in. I don't believe there could be a better way to tour the Somme, see so much and get such detailed background and information. Can't recommend it enough

We were the only ones on the Tour. Our guide was excellent taking into account some of the places of interest that we wanted to see which may not have been on the official itinerary. No rush. The lunch was also excellent. All in all a very good tour and value for money.
