Paulette was a fabulous tour guide! She had a wealth of information about Bridgetown and Barbados at the tip of her tongue! Highly recommend this tour! The food experience was very good - meeting street vendors - paulette stopped here and there to say hello to a friend or share a native fruit of vegetables she saw in a stand! Wear good walking shoes and come on an empty stomach! Food is plentiful and delicious!

Shari was incredible! Super knowledgeable and funny. The order you try the food was perfect for the person who needs a little sweet treat after every meal! You must do this if you’re visiting!!!
Great way to experience local cuisine with knowledgeable guide

Very knowledgeable local guide, took us to a variety of places to try the various local cuisines both sweet and savoury.
Awesome food tour!

Paulette was great! Very knowledgeable and was able to answer questions about Barbados. Highly recommend!
Experienced new Bajan foods and tastes
Vera_J, Apr 2024
The food tour of Barbados was fantastic! Got to experience new foods and textures and learn some of the history of the area. Our guide was very knowledgeable and has a passion for history. My only concern is that we sometimes couldn't hear her as we walked quickly through crowded areas. I went on another Viator tour in Barbados the day before that included earphones so we heard all the details! Please consider adding that on all your tours.
It was a very fulfilling day for sure!

The local name Bajan is so much nicer sounding than Barbadian! Janelle was an excellent hostess and highly knowledgeable guide, taking us on an interesting historic and tasty culinary city tour of Bajan foods. We learned a lot about the history of Barbados as well as the history and preparation of traditional food in Barbados. Pickup was exactly on time and Janell was waiting for us in the park. The route was well planned through the markets to the food vendors and local small restaurants, and learning about the local ingredients and experiencing the tasty Bajan results was fun. One of the best tours we have taken!
Experienced many new Bajan tastes!

Loved the meat rolls! Our tour guide Janelle was very informative and friendly, and the food was great!
Informative tour with great food
Anthony_C, Apr 2024
Paulette was excellent with a nice history lesson to learn about the place and how that influences the food found there. The food was very plentiful and begins shortly after the orientation. Some walking but not overly burdensome. We explored places we would have never found on our own. The guide has a nice relationship with all whom we visited and were welcomed at each establishment graciously. We felt safe and well cared for. Simply a pleasure. Thank you Paulette.
Great tour with good food

Sharie our guide was wonderful. She was very friendly and knowledgeable. She told us about the site and the history of the island and took us to some great places for food. Definitely come on this tour with an empty stomach.
A tasty Barbados experience

Our tour with Janelle was a great experience in our Barbados trip. Learned about Barbados history followed by a walk through downtown food scene. Our tasting included hot fish cakes, macaroni pie, sorrel and local ice cream among many things. You will not go hungry on this tour!
Great food tour in Barbados

Janelle was a wonderful tour guide, and was very knowledgeable about the food and the history of Barbados. The tour was much longer, and there was much more food than we anticipated really felt like we left, having a good flavor for local food.
Really great food and history tour

Our family of four – including two teen boys – immensely enjoyed this food and walking tour. Paulette - who was fantastic - was our tour guide, and as a result, we learned a tremendous amount both about Bajan history and food. People are not joking when they talk in reviews about how much food it is – I couldn’t eat remotely everything that was served to us– but I appreciated the flexibility of options for me as someone who doesn’t eat meat. Our only disappointment was that they did not serve us flying fish and cou cou, which we had understood is kind of the unofficial dish of Barbados, but we did buy some Bajan spicy pepper sauce after enjoying it so much. Overall, we would highly recommend this tour! And remember to tip your tour guides, people - they work so hard!
A must do when coming to Barbados.
Albertying_H, Mar 2024
Very informative, Ravy is very knowledgeable about the history about Barbados, including how to cook some of the food eaten here. There are also fruits that are locally grown here that you can check with him if they are in season. 3hrs is imo rather short for a tour like this with the many sights to see, but the tour guide and driver have knowledge to fill in those gaps. The walk is easy and relaxed as it’s not too rushed in more places, giving you time to really breathe in the history there. The pick up is convenient as well, and easy to contact if problems arise.
A good way to experience local food
Rodney_S, Mar 2024
It is a well organized tour pretty much. Good taste selections. Don’t eat much if any breakfast. A little more on the history of slavery from mankind’s creation with different tribes. Cultures, racial and economic groups than you might want to spend considerable time listening to, but overall a worthy experience
Don't miss this!
Paul_S, Mar 2024
It was a real taste of local foods and culture. One of the best food tours we have been on. I have to say more here because Viator is making me.
Fun food tour
Catherine_F, Mar 2024
Shari our guide for the tour was fun and knowledgeable .We got to try local food with a history lesson. Far more food than we were expecting.
Lickrish = fill your belly Bajan style!
Gillian_F, Mar 2024
We certainly did fill our bellies with great Bajan food. Our tour guide, Janelle was very good, very knowledgeable and gave us the history of the island first as well as a wonderful tour of Bridgetown's local food vendors. Our tour was on a Saturday so the town was buzzing with locals doing their shopping - great vibe! Super hot though!
Food, fun and full!
Josephine_H, Mar 2024
The tour was excellent. The tour guide (Sheri) was as absolutely wonderful. She was knowledgeable, fun and personable. She truly made it a great experience. The food was amazing. I was so stuffed and satisfied by the end of the tour. I would highly recommend it to anyone.
Eat what the locals eat. Highly recommend!
Brenton_H, Mar 2024
Janelle was amazing, the tour started with a short history lesson on Barbados, then on to the food tour. We stopped at several local eateries and sampled the cuisine of Barbados. We are travelers who always want to eat the local dishes. We tend to shy away from chains. If this is you, I would highly recommend this tour. The food was amazing! By the way, the people of Barbados are so nice!
Paulette did great job....

Paulette did great job. Food was good and plenty of it. Driver Allen was prompt, courteous and informative.
The host was the star of the tour
maxine_m, Mar 2024
Our host Sharon was the making of the tour she was passionate and really nice and looked after us all..my criticism is following another tour at the beginning meant we did a lot of waiting around and the tour needs to move with a little more pace .
