Fantastic experience

Me and my husband absolutely loved this experience. Bun, our guide, took us around all of the local spots and we were even welcomed into a local home to observe how rice noodles were made and were given a tasty try! The Bamboo Train was a lot of fun 🤩 and it was interesting to learn about the tragic history of the killing cave. Lastly, we viewed the bats leaving their cave at sunset and wow- there were millions!! Truly- thank you so much for this wonderful experience. It’s one that will stay with us for the rest of our lives! Charlotte & Ben

Our tour guide Riz really made this experience unique and lovely. Riz was very attentive making sure we had lunch during the tour, a stop off at a bus company to book tickets to Phnom Penh the following morning, as well as an early stop off at the local bakery! Riz was also very informative throughout the journey providing facts along the way. The killing caves were very interesting. The bamboo train was a lot of fun.

This tour was amazing! Bun told us about the history and culture of Cambodia while driving through the beautiful countryside. His English is perfect and his stories are told with passion and love for his country. The Bamboo train is fun, but the locals try to guilt-trip you into buying some souvenirs which is not very pleasant. The Bat Cave is a spectacular and unique experience! After the tour, Bun took us to meet some of his friends and we shared some drinks, resulting in a lovely evening!

It is a bit expencive becouse all the guys want an extra dollar. :( Bamboo train you pay extra, as tip for the driver, trip for the guide...Hmm that's Cambodian way.

Thank you to Bun, our driver and guide. Not only did, he took us to the sites, he stopped along the way to tell us about Cambodian culture and way of life. While the Bat cave was fascinating, the risde on the bamboo train was the highlight, especially seeing the changeovers on the track. It is also always fun travelling on the tuk-tuk, you see so much more than in the car.

Our tour was amazing! Tha was very genuine, and had lots of interesting information. He showed us around the area he was from and gave very helpful information about when to meet him. Also, definitely explore the top of the mountain. We found a cave down some stairs with two statues with no one else there and it was magical. This was our best tour in Cambodia and we really enjoyed Tha.

Excellent experience! Bun was unable to join the tour, so his partner led the tour for the day. We were picked up on time from the hotel and driven through the countryside by our lovely guide who stopped to point out interesting sights, monuments and buildings while also adding in an impressive amount of idioms throughout the day! From the suspension bridge to the countryside to the bamboo train to the caves- it was a great look into the local culture! Side note! We also had quite a bit of trouble with our arranged taxi back to Siem Reap after the tour and our guide stayed and helped us out (calling the taxi company on our behalf, driving us to a new meeting point, staying WAY past our tour time) which was so kind and helpful!! Especially for two females sorting out transportation at night. Highly recommend if you are staying in Battambang or Siem Reap!! :)

This was a great tour. The Bamboo train was really good fun and the bat cave was amazing. I thought the bats would fly out for about a minute or so but there were so many it lasted nearly 20 minutes. The killing cave was a must see as well although obviously much more sombre. Our guide Rem was brilliant, very knowledgeable and a really good guy. We took the back roads for the tour so saw real rural life.

We had such a fantastic day out with Rith! He shared so much knowledge of the local area and let us sample some of the Cambodian delicacies such as “friends cake”, bamboo sticky rice and fresh vegetable rolls. Yum!! The bamboo train was so much fun and the bat cave was a sight to behold! Would recommend booking this tour.

Fascinating Tour By Local Expert

Bun was super friendly and knowledgeable. We particularly enjoyed the tuk tuk ride around rural Battambang, he engagingly explained local flora, life of rice farmers and gave insight into the lifestyles and challenges of those living in the local area. We truly came away with newfound knowledge and appreciation for these people. Some unexpected edibles were provided along the way as well as free water. The bamboo train was great fun and felt like a privilege to ride the original bamboo train, though saddened to hear this will soon become disused and replaced with a government-run replica. We visited a killing cave at the top of a high incline and chose to pay an additional $2 each for a pick up truck up and around the points of interest at the top, I’d recommend this. Lots of fascinating monkey families at the top at the pagodas which were very entertaining and great for photography. The bats emerging in their hoards was a sight to behold, and worth seeing at least once.

I came back to Cambodia after a 10 year gap and have been so looking forward to it. I was thrilled that Bun took us to the part of the Bamboo train that is still more authentic rather than the small tourist bit. He also took us quite a ways around the countryside sharing with us information about the local people, geopolitics, grabbing bits of lemongrass, kefir lime leaves, and other local plants to smell and experience. We were able to interact with lots of the gorgeous children along the way and ask him any questions about the culture. So, we felt that while we were seeing some very touristy sites we also were able to learn about life for the people in this community. One other thing stands out, after our tour we'd asked Bun to drop us off at the youth Circus. After the Circus, we were unable to find a free tuk tuk and I Whatsapped Bun to see if he knew anyone working nearby. Despite having worked a 12 hour day and it being 8:30 at hight he hopped in his tuk tuk and zipped over to get us. When we got to our hotel and I asked what we owed him he told us not to worry about it. Of course I pushed some cash at him but I was so touched that he would run over to get us so quickly at the end of such a long day. Bun is a good guy and while booking this is more expensive than you'd pay grabbing someone locally, he also takes care of others locally (he offered money to some local vendors to show us some of the local delicacies and then gave the food to some of the kids nearby for instance). Worth booking him for sure.
