What To Expect

Emerge early and depart from Belfast in a comfortable, air-conditioned luxury coach destined for the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Giant’s Causeway. Along the way, listen to legends surrounding the formation of the mystifying natural wonder that consists of hexagonal rock columns that fit together like a puzzle. Initially we thought a 10hour trip would be too long but We were proved wrong. Paul our driver and guide made it so much fun with his brilliant sense of humour we couldn’t believe we had been on the bus that long. Thanks to McCoombs coaches for making it possible for us to see the lovely sights in Belfast. I definitely recommend this guided tour

Perfect Tour of the Antrim Coast and Giant’s Causeway

This tour was absolutely wonderful. We saw a variety of beautiful stops along the Antrim Coast, culminating with the Giant’s Causeway. We got lucky with beautiful weather, but our guide Patrick was the best part of the tour. He was professional, knowledgeable, funny, and considerate of the group’s needs (including rest stops for both sights and food/restrooms). Highly, highly recommend both the tour and the company!

We loved stopping at so many places and hearing so much about the area! I Personally get a bit nauseous on trips like this, so it was very helpful to get out and walk around at each stop—anywhere from 10 minutes to :45. Our driver, Ray, was also our narrator guide—he is a wealth of information! If we had rented a car to do this trip, we would not know even 1/3 of the history, lore and geography of the region—thanks, Ray!!!

It was a good trip. A lot of interesting things. Just be aware, the itinerary that linked me to Viator to pay for the trip was on Tripadvisor. The itinerary was not the same. Some stops were drive-bys like the castles. We didn't or couldn't tour them. Bushmills Distillery was added, but not advertised on Tripadvisor and some people didn't even get off the bus. That addition was 45 minutes, shaving time off of other places. It was a nice day and the tour guide was excellent. My advice is to confirm the itinerary you think you are getting with the itinerary on the tour company's website. Ours was not the same. I would have rather spent more time seeing one of the castles or walking the rope bridge than going to the distillery.

Terrible Service at Giant's Causeway

Stranded by our driver who left early, despite being just 3 minutes late. Faced threats of a £30 charge to retrieve belongings from the agency, which felt like coercion. Complaints were met with sarcasm and disregard for our situation. Demanding a full refund through Viator and sharing our poor experience widely.

As you stated above, you were late. This is the reason for the coach departing without you. The driver emphasises the need for punctuality repeatedly, as it is vital to the smooth running of the tour - Especially at the Giants Causeway where there are traffic wardens on patrol moving coaches on. We appreciate your frustration, however it is not possible to reimburse for your poor timekeeping skills.

What a wonderful day! Our guide Karl was funny and super informative, and kept the schedule moving at a perfect clip, with plenty of time for sightseeing and breaks. The highlight of our time in Northern Ireland. Quick tip: this tour left at 830a, which seemed to be on the earlier side of the options… this helped stay a bit ahead of the other tours, and is highly recommended, if you have a choice.

A very pleasant experience involving much time seated on a nice tour bus. The driver is well versed in the history of the area and made the time pass easily. Enough stops along the beautiful Antrim Coast and time enough to explore Giants Causeway.

Gale force winds at the causeway but wonderful experience anyway

We really enjoyed Ray’s commentary — he brought the local history to life. The drive along the Antrim coast was beautiful and there were many scenic stops for photos. The Giants Causeway rock formations were spectacular but for me the very rough seas associated with the gale force winds were very exciting and photogenic. All in all, a very enjoyable day.

Excellent tour, Patrick was a wonderful driver/host. There were tons of stops at scenic sites, with plenty of time to explore and take photos. Just a small word of warning, there’s a little bit of walking involved at many of the stops, but I have achilles tendinitis and was able to manage fine. Just wear comfy shoes!
