What To Expect

Meet your guide in central Belfast and soak up the scenery on the drive through the Glens of Antrim. After a short stop for photos at Carrickfergus Castle, continue along the rugged Antrim Coast to reach the first stop of the day – the famous Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge.

Brave a walk across the historic rope bridge (March-Oct only; extra cost), which passes 100ft (30m) over the Atlantic Ocean and connects the coastal cliffs of Northern Ireland to Carrick-a-Rede Island.

Next, enjoy free time to explore the Giant’s Causeway, Northern Ireland’s only UNESCO World Heritage site. Snap photos of the extraordinary natural wonder as you clamber over its unusual basalt columns and look out over the windswept coast. Be sure to ask your guide how the Giant’s Causeway got its name too – Irish mythology tells stories of a giant named Finn MacCool.

After strolling along the Giant’s Causeway, stop for lunch at one of the coastal restaurants (own expense), before starting the journey back to Belfast. Along the way, stop to roam the ruins of the seafront Dunluce Castle, and hear how the medieval castle was used as a filming location for Game of Thrones.

After an action-packed day, end your tour back in central Belfast.

The trip was terrific from beginning to end. Weather was perfect, scenery was amazing, Dave, our driver was funny, personable, more than competent navigating those narrow roads and kept us all greatly entertained to the Giant’s Causeway and back. We would absolutely do this tour again.
Weather dependant your

This is a 9 hour tour! Check In is on victoria street opposite the grand opera house and the coaches are parked beside the opera house on the opposite side of the room. Multiple coaches so have to be vigilant that get on the right coach. Coach- massive,57 seats- one of those tourist coaches, huge numbers of people. Boarding is from 0830 due to the large numbers This is a weather dependent tour as the views are dependant on visibility. Carrigfergus: 15 minutes 0920-0935 Castle , harbour and Toilet stop. Carnlough: 1035- 1100 Small town with a harbour- pretty, not much to do but the scenery. Toilet stop. It’s the location for when Aria stark comes out of the water after being stabbed in game of thrones. Waterford,we drove through. The hedges hotel stop for lunch: 1200-1320, the driver hands out vouchers. A good time as earlier the better as an hour late, the restaurant was overcrowded and it was mayhem. bushmill whiskey distillery was a quick stop from 1345-14.15. too short to do very much, a quick walk Around and had a dram of whisky. Reasonably priced for blends at £4 per dram. The single malt aged was heating into double digits. Dunluce Castle was on the iternary but could not be seen due to Poor weather. We then headed to the Great causeway :1437-1630 and had more time there due to the stop that was cancelled. Weather was terrible. We were dropped off at a corner so they can save money for parking. We were asked to go around the ticketing office via the car park and to avoid the National trust office/ building. Dave is entertaining, full of stores and talking through out the trip. Theresa was too much time on the bus and little time on the ground. It’s a weather dependent tour. It ticks all the boxes with game of thrones and also coastal Northern Ireland sites.
excelent tour

Excellent tour, great guide kept the travelling fun with loads of good info (and bad jokes:)). One of the best coach tours I've been on.
Great day trip! Thank you Dave!

Dave the driver and tour guide was excellent! The commentary was both educational and funny! Got us to and fro safely and he was pleasant with the kids!
Great trip well worth the money. Certainly would recommend.

Whole trip was well organised. Highlight was the Giants Causeway. Dave our driver was excellent and kept us well entertained with his wit and humour, together with his wealth of knowledge on the areas we were travelling.
Giant's Causeway Tour

Lissea, the tour guide, and Thomas, the driver, worked as a great team on our tour to the Giant's Causeway. The rain and wind were coming at us sideways, but Lissea was always upbeat and positive. Her commentary was informative and interesting. The scenery along the coast was spectacular. The stops on the tour were historic or fun. Would recommend this tour.
Great day out

Well organised and thoroughly enjoyable. Dave was our tour guide, he was knowledgable and added an element of fun to the day, Thank you!
Such a good Saturday
Diana_S, Apr 2024
The funniest tour guide who was at the same time our driver -David. He was telling us a lot of interesting things during the ride. Also he advised how to do a best impression of Causeway Giants, that it's better to start at the climb a hill a little, right of the main entrance and then step down to the coast where is the Causeway. There is a bus that leads down to it too.

Great Full Day Tour
Robert_N, Apr 2024
Excellent trip which was well organised. There is a lot to take in on the tour, whih means time is tight. Coach and driver were excellent and the guide, funny and knowledgable. Take lunch with you. There is the opportunity to purchase sandwiches at a Local Spa in Carnlough and alos a meal at the lunch stop at The Dark Hedges. As it was a Sunday, food at the Hedges was a carvery. The food looked excellent, but extremely large portions, so leave enough time. For each stop the guide Gavin was able to offer great advice e.g. 3 different malt Whiskeys for £10 at Bushmills distillery. There are 3 ways to get to the Giants Causeway. I would recommend down by the red route as this gives views down onto the causeay and back via the blue route. Very enjoyable day, highly recommended

Darren_R, Apr 2024
Great experience on this tour stopping at various points /villages of interest. From Paul our driver & Louie the tour commentator . Also had a vast knowledge of the mourne mountain & everything else we asked about. Very well worth the money. As we had a wee dram at Bushmills whiskey tour as not driving. The whole day experience was so stress free & overhaul value for money. Thanks
Nothing else like it… GO!
Britney_M, Mar 2024
Highly recommend this experience. It’s was Paul’s first day and he did a fabulous job getting that bus through small roads. It was impressive.
Excellent , good value day trip around beautiful north Irish coast.
Petra_T, Mar 2024

Excellent value for money
Kathryn_E, Mar 2024
Tommy the Coach Driver was extremely knowledgeable and a great raconteur. We saw many sights along the way to Giant’s Causeway which was spectacular. The trip is timed so that you are able to take photos or walk around and gives you a real taste of the beautiful Northern Ireland Coast.

Lovely day out
Jan_H, Feb 2024
My whole group loved the Giant's Causeway trip & it is great that there were so many shorter stops enroute to the main event. The timings were nicely set & the buffet lunch option was a great addition (though my stew was barely luke warm when I sat down with it & I couldn't face the queue to correct it) The driver's commentary was mostly fun & informative, but the sound would have been more comfortable if the volume was a little lower. Less derogatory stories about his wife would have been nice and I did have 1 of my international students ask me about his dead friend - I failed to explain the joke as it really wasn't that funny 1st hand, nevermind after she'd thought it was true. His practical tips and knowledge on the route really did make up for these points though and the day was definitely the most popular of our short city trip.
