Food and culture in Bergen...start as strangers and end as friends

Our tour guide was very personable and knowledgeable. Our fellow foodies were lovely too, we started as strangers and ended as friends. Would definitely recommend this tour as we visited places we would not have known about and tasted some lovely new things....we even went back to the pub in the evening to have another pint 😀

Nina is an amazing guide! We were a small group and she really personalized our walking tour. We felt like we got an insider's look at Bergen’s history, food & culture. And she recommended a great spot for dinner!

Historical oddities, seeing places we would never find and stories we would never hear. A variety of food tastings. Our only negative is to be sure you are ready to walk, and climb as there are hills and steps to climb to get the best views. Guide Ivan was knowledgeable.

Glimpse of Bergen

The tastes were great in particular the lamb and vegetable soup our guide Frida ate growing up. The path of our tour took us to the back neighborhood of the city inviting us to see how the residents live. Though some of the trek had steps and inclines, we weren’t rushed. The story told to us in the pub was particularly interesting.

We took this tour in the pouring rain on Friday March 1, 2024! We were very lucky to have both Marianne and Celine as our fun , friendly and extremely knowledgeable guides!! We tried lots of traditional foods and learned many interesting as well as entertaining facts about Bergen. This is a tour not to be missed!!

Excellent informative local tour

Anna was an excellent tour guide. She was very friendly and patient and the tour was at a good pace. She gave a lot of information about the foods in Norway, the history and how it fit in with the culture of the country. She answered all our questions. We enjoyed visiting the food locations. We went back to all the tour locations. A drink at the Dyvekes Vinkjeller, Dr Wieseners for dinner and Det Lille Kaffekompaniet for coffee and hot chocolate (best coffee and hot chocolate in Bergen). I would highly recommend this tour for visitors to Bergen as the food locations are local.

Maryanne was the best! We had such delightful and delicious overview of Bergen. We knew nothing about the city before our visit and left with a wealth of knowledge which has us craving a return visit to explore and learn more. Cultural tour with food highlights

We thought we were just tasting local food but instead we got insight of the city, its history, and its culture. Starting at the Fish Market with fish cakes and cinnamon buns, we walked through town learning how Bergen came to be. We ate a great soup at a locals stop, walked up by the Funicular for yummy apple juice and whipped cream then ended in a super old and interesting bar with beer in hand. Our guide kept a good pace, filled us with knowledge and some fun stories. We thoroughly enjoyed the three plus hours we spent
