What To Expect
This Monkeyland and Puerto Plata tour starts with pickup from your hotel in either Puerto Plata, Sosua, Cabarete, Playa Dorada or Imbert. This tour can accommodate up to 100 travelers in one group—keeping costs down for you.
Once everyone is picked up, enjoy a smooth ride over to Monekyland and enjoy a ride in an open-air safari truck. Keep an eye out for wildlife, such as squirrel monkeys, as you go. Then, stop and under the supervision of staff, put out a plate of fruit to get the monkeys to come to you.
After your Mokeyland visit, your guide takes you to a local’s countryside home in Puerto Plata. See for yourself how a local lives in the area without electricity or running water. Also learn about the history and cultural traditions of this Caribbean island.
Your combo group tour ends with drop-off back at your hotel.

It was an incredible experience, we had monkeys on our head, arms, and shoulders with their soft little hands. There was also a tasting of mama Juana, hot chocolate, and coffee which was really good.

What a fun experience!! Highly recommend if you like animals. The monkeys are so surprising soft and gentle. Excellent for kids of all ages and big kids like us too! If you're coming to Puerto Plata then for sure don't miss this experience!!

Tour guide was great (oralbi). very new clean bus for transport, which was much better than the open air truck we were expecting. Would have been nice to be able to walk around in the monkey enclosure for a bit. Was more of a “sit down and we bring the monkeys to you “.

We had a great time! So much fun to spend around 45 minutes with these spider monkeys. Trainer gave us some information about these little guys & it was quite the experience having them so close!

We got left and never got to do it. I hope you guys can refund us some money please. I was at the port at 8:30. I asked to be picked up and no one showed up

Me and my family completed This as a family and it was amazing. The time that we got to spend with the monkeys was amazing. Following the tour we got to also do a small tour through some of the beautiful lush and taste homemade cocoa, see how Cocoa butter was made and also taste coffee made over an open fire.
The only downside to this tour was, we were picked up in Sousa- several stops were made to pick other tourist up, which means that we did not actually began the activities until two hours after being picked up. It was the same following the conclusion of the tour, we were the first ones to get picked up and the last ones to get dropped off so it was a pretty lengthy ride back to our destination 2 1/2 hours … in a van with no windows - it was raining and a chilly 60 degrees the whole entire time - we were cold and wet by the time we arrived to the tour and returned home - which made us rethink that maybe we should’ve just drove ourselves to paid the entry fee to get in .. 😕
