The driver was rude- first told me I had screwed up because I was supposed to have a paper ticket. I showed him the ticket I had in my Wallet, so then he said Viator screwed up. I was incensed with how he handled this (he could see on his manifest that we were scheduled and had paid)…plus we were the only 2 people on the bus!! I would never, ever recommend this tour. I had read the reviews and thought the driver would be funny and engaging…NOT SO - he was boring!! I fell asleep. His voice was completely monotone. This guy shd not be in a job like this!!

Great tour, but do NOT BOOK if you're afraid of heights!!! Wish I was able to enjoy it more but being right next to cliffs with no railing scared me. When I thought we weren't going to go higher we did.

Viator made a mistake by telling me I could book a private scenic tour. They had me pay for two extra empty seats to book privately. They took my money and then when I and my family showed up for a private tour, the guides informed me that there were no private tours available. After debating with Deanna and the help clerk via "Catalina Island Company", she went and investigated the matter by listening to my phone call at booking time. After making my family wait for 45 minutes she comes out and acknowledges viator's mistake and gave me my full refund without any apology or rectifying. Did not even apologize that I and my family had missed our tour and wasted 45 minutes on an already tight 1 day Catalina visit. Viator made the mistake by misinforming me about a private tour and Deanna and the guide at help desk had terrible customer service. We should have been offered a tour or apology at the least for a mistake by their partening company. But, rather we got "tough luck" no tour here's your money back. The one positive thing I will say is there was a Spanish tour driver who cared about my family and how this mishap would affect our visit. He was the only one that day who showed any empathy. Would never book a visit through Catalina Island Company again via their poor customer service at tour plaza. And would be hesitant booking with viator.

The chance to see Avalon and it’s history with a knowledgeable tour guide. To see beautiful and historic houses that were built for decades, and to tour around with my Love one spending oir first year Anniversary.

Loved the scenic tour and the information the tour guide gave us about the island. I did prefer the open air shuttles they used to have though.

Laura was an excellent driver and tour guide. Was very knowledgeable about the island and has a great sense of humor. The whole experience took about an hour. We were able to get out to take photos of breathtaking views. I definitely recommend this excursion.

Rude and condescending driver went out of his way to speed around turns, accelerating unnecessary. When asked to slow down bit we were told to read the fine print. Of course this was not found on our voucher. The driver was one of the very worst we’ve ever experienced and we have traveled numerous times with viator. No up to Viator high standards at all. Don’t take this trip. We are seeking a full refund
