This tour was amazing. It was a small group so you were able to ask questions and interact with everyone. It felt more like groups of friends just getting together. That’s all thanks to our amazing tour guide. He created the best atmosphere. As for the food, we loved trying everything especially the cheese. This is our first time in Greece so we loved being able to try the food and learn about the culture. You can tell our guide really has a passion for what he does. I highly recommend this tour.

Christos in Chania

Christos was an amazing, passionate local that lead us on a tour that only a local could provide. He showed us outlets that were not only top notch but also very traditional in their products and services. We had a great experience and can only suggest that you don’t eat prior to the tour. So much food and definitely one for the foodies wanting an authentic experience. Thanks again Christos

A must do in Chania

We began our trip in Chania with this tour and we couldn’t have picked a better way to start. Christos was knowledgeable and fun. The food was delicious!! We were able to taste the best of Chania. Bring an appetite because you will eat a lot! He even accommodated a vegetarian with a delicious substitute for a gyro.

We had such a great time on this tasting tour! It included a variety of different foods, including cheeses, sweets, appetizers, and main dishes. The portion sizes were VERY generous and we left full. We also had a chance to try Greek drinks such as Greek coffee and raki. Our group especially appreciated the stop at the herbal store and the presentation on mountain teas. I was also deeply appreciative that this tour was easily able to be customized for pescetarians, without sacrificing any of the flavor. Christos provided great information about the foods and followed up with a helpful email with the foods we tried and great recommendations for restaurants. Highly recommend!

Going on a food tour with Chistos when we arrived in Chania was so informative. He took us to places we would have never found on our own and introduced us to many Greek food ideas that we would also have never known to order. A lot of fun and very informative. Each place we visited was welcoming and the food was wonderful.

Christos is the best! He might literally be the nicest person I've ever met. Doing a food walking tour of Chania was the best decision we could have made. I had the best pastry, called bougasta, of my life. Christos took us to authentic local spots we never would have discovered on our own. You also get so much bang for your buck with this tour. We were so full by the end! We also got to walk into an herb shop which was very interesting. Christos is so thoughtful. He knew my husband and I were interested in the history of Chania so he also showed us historical sites as well. He is so incredibly kind, friendly and knowledgable. He knows all the shop owners well as well as many other people on the street we crossed path with. It felt like we were with the mayor. You must do this food walking tour if you are in Chania! Christos, we will be back!

My wife and I did the tour with Christos and he was one of kind. He was so nice and extremely joyful. He took us all around town showing us some of the best local spots for authentic and traditional Greek treats and eats. Each stop on the tour had a story and you could see Christos was a friend of each shop owner. It felt like we were two locals grabbing bites around the town with an old friend. He was extremely knowledgeable on the treats and food, local shops and history of Crete. You can easily see he has a true passion for showing tourists some of the best Crete has to offer. He even took us a market like store towards the end of the tour where we sampled different olive oils, infused honeys, pistachio butter and some local liquors. The food was amazing but the true treat was all of the kindness in the interactions and getting to take a peak behind the scenes at some true local Cretan spots. Highly recommend this tour if you want to have a great time.

Christos is an AMAZING guide

We drove from Heraklion and were a bit late, but Christos (our guide) was so gracious and a great communicator. We ended up missing one of the first stops and he was able to work that into the end of our tour on the way back to our car! Christos was an excellent guide and I had so much fun with the group. We had a lovely day in Chania visiting the bougatsa shop, getting gyros, visiting local markets and desserts shop (where we had THE BEST loukoumades). We even were able to visit the lighthouse on our tour. We even visited a very knowledgeable herb shop (HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS OPTION). absolutely had a great time so don't pass this up!

Best food we had in Chania! Christos rocks!

We did this tour on our last day in Chania - we had hoped to have it be the first thing we did but were unable to achieve that due to our schedule. This was the best food we had in the four days we were in Chania. Christos was a fabulous guide. He was so kind, personable, and knowledgeable. He brought us to a cheese shop with mouthwateringly good cheese samples. We also had gyros that were by far the best that we had all trip (we went to Santorini, Chania, and Croatia). He also brings you to an herb shop where we learned about local herbs and were able to purchase some seasoning and tea mixtures that we had not seen anywhere else. Wonderful tour all in all!

A wonderful food tour with the delightful Christos

What a fabulous experience. Christos was a wonderful and friendly young man who took us to authentic eateries to taste real Cretan food that we would never otherwise have found. We also visited a herbalist who is an expert and featured in magazines but we would never have discovered this hidden gem without our guide. The food was amazing and delicious. Christos was born in Chania and folliwing his degree in Athens has made this tour his career and own small business. He brought us all together with his lovely personality, excellant English and knowledge. A really enjoyable and outstanding experience. At the end of the tour, he took us into the most beautiful quiet little roads in the old town thst we would never have known existed and gave us the names of restaurants he and the locals recommend for the most delicious Cretan food.
