Overview

It's all castles and cathedrals.     The starting point is a parking area for tour busses by the back of Tivoli Gardens right across the street from Copenhagen City Hall (Rådhuset). If you have any problems finding the pick-up point please feel free to call the local operator, Hamlet Tours, for directions at +4530700667.

Pickup details

We offer a hotel pickup from most hotels in the centre of Copenhagen. We will pick you up 30-50 minutes before the tour starts. You will receive an e-mail with the exact pickup time at least 24 hours prior to the tour. We do NOT go to hotels outside the city center. This includes hotels near the airport such as Crowne Plaza and AC Bella Sky and hotels in the Nordhavn area such as Adina Apartments. Certain hotels which are located within a few minutes' walk of the starting point are also not included because you would spend a lot more time getting picked up and then driven around to other pick ups rather than just walk a few minutes directly to the starting point of the tour if you are staying right next to it. You are very welcome to contact us to inquire about specific hotels. Your bus for the day is a plain white mini-bus. If you have any doubts regarding your pickup please feel free to call the tour operator, Hamlet Tours, at +4530700667. PLEASE NOTE: The tour will involve a lot of walking and steep stairs. As the historic sights are not equipped for accessibility, the tour is not suitable for people in wheelchairs or for people having difficulties with long distances of walking.

You can cancel up to 24 hours in advance of the experience for a full refund.

  • For a full refund, you must cancel at least 24 hours before the experience’s start time.
  • If you cancel less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time, the amount you paid will not be refunded.
  • Any changes made less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time will not be accepted.
  • Cut-off times are based on the experience’s local time.
  • This experience requires a minimum number of travelers. If it’s canceled because the minimum isn’t met, you’ll be offered a different date/experience or a full refund.

Chris was very personable and funny. He gave interesting facts about each place and kept things light with his jokes. The tour bus was very comfortable and had great air conditioning. The castles were beautiful!!! Wish we had more time at Fredricksborg slot—if you are interested in spending more time here skip lunch at the cafe and just grab a snack. The tour is well worth your time!

Worse Company Ever!

We hoped to take a wonderful tour around special places in Copenhagen during our once in a lifetime trip there. We made reservations for three of us for the full day tour. Upon arriving at the van pick-up spot, we awaited the arrival of the van. Surprisingly, there were only two seats remaining for the three of us. Something was terribly wrong. The driver of the van suspected we were at fault. However, after tirelessly convincing him of our reservations, he contacted the company and explained the issue for us. We also spoke to the company representative. No help was offered. None. No additional vehicle was proposed to pick us up and follow the tour we paid for. The other passengers had to sit through a tiring delay, wondering what was going to happen. My family and I were totally embarrassed during the whole event, delaying innocent passengers while looking like fools and scapegoats. And again, no effort was made by the company to provide any relief to us. Eventually, the van drove away, leaving us alone on an unfamiliar sidewalk to fend for ourselves as best we could on a rainy, cold day. I have never in my life been treated so rudely by a company as I was this day. A week later, a shallow "apology" was offered by the president, as well as an inconsequent 25% discount on a future trip should we ever be able to return to a distant land that took more than 70 years to get to the first time. I only want the reader to seek other travel companies for trips in Copenhagen. These people are simply vile, disgusting and incompetent. DON'T TAKE THE CHANCE!

This is a great way to see historically important and interesting sites near Copenhagen, all in one day. It's nice to just have 8 or so other folks in the group so that it's quick and easy to get from one place to another. Our guide, Chris, did a great job in providing historical information as well as in getting us from place to place. And he helped us deal with a sprained ankle that happened early in they day. Silas was a great guide. He was very knowledgeable and had a great sense of humor. He made the tour more enjoyable. It was a nice way to spend the day seeing things not usually seen if you never venture out of Copenhagen.

Very good tour and highly recommend it. Ross was a great tour guide taking us in a small van to Roskilde, Frederiksborg Palace, and Helsingør. A great day trip outside and around Copenhagen on a 9 hour tour. Learned a lot of the history of Denmark and the significance of the places we visited.

i booked a tour on the 22 and went to the meeting place no one showed to pick us up. i called and was told the tour was the 23 even though i booked it the evening of the 21. so no tour and no refund even though the ad says can cancel with 24 hours notice and i was talking to them 24 hours in advance since the tour was next day same time. we left the country noon on the 23 so could not go on 23. i booked for the 22. they issued tickets for the 23. so no tour and no refund, $300 down the drain. what a rip off. beware!!

Dear Elmer, We are very sorry that you missed the tour and we understand your frustration. We are very sorry that your day got ruined. I would like to stress that it is not our fault that you accidentally booked a tour for the wrong date. There are no manual steps in that process. It is all automatic and all based on the date that you click when you make the booking. We do not change it. As the tour operator I do not know exactly what dialogue you have had with Viator about a refund of your money. If you told Viator that you wanted to cancel your booking no later than 24 hours before your tour was supposed to start (on the date that you booked it for) then you should be entitled to a refund. Zelas was an engaging and knowledgeable tour guide. He was clearly proud of the Danish history and culture. It was lovely for him to take us on a side stop to the summer palace which wasn’t on the itinerary. We were also very lucky to witness the firing of the canons at Kronborg Castle as the troop welcomed the Royal Family as they sailed into the harbour. All in all a great packed day.

Fantastic day with orn and claus. Pickup was on time. Sites picked were all spectacular. Wish we had longer at all of them but a great way to see a lot of sites in one day. Bus was comfy. Would highly recommend.

The visits to the castles, viking ship museum and church were all really worth it. Each located in a charming town and worth seeing. Also, we had enough time for everything with the exception of one castle that was admittedly too big to see the whole thing but we could have been given a bit more time. Our guide was really informative without being overbearing.
