Great experience with AppeBike. Shop is @ a 10 minute walk from the cruise port. The tour is not guided which was perfect for us. We were given a map and a route to follow as well as highlights to see along the way. That is just what we wanted as it's so much fun to go off on our own. The bikes were great and easy to ride. The city traffic in the morning is dense, but once you are out of the downtown the ride is very easy and the traffic is gone when you come back in the afternoon. We went over our allotted time with the bikes but it was only a 10 Euro charge per person and was worth it. Would highly recommend for people who want to get out an explore on their own.

We walked over a mile from the port to pick up our bikes and then we’re told the bikes were cancelled. We were on time at 9:00 and then got an email at almost 10 saying it was cancelled. Wish they would have notified us earlier. Not sure what happened. The gentleman at the bike place very apologetic and kind not his fault.
Friendly staff but subpar experience

It's better to think of it as a bike rental rather than a bike tour; not only is there no guide (which we knew coming in, but is easy to miss), the provided route doesn't show much of the city. It's just a ride down the main city road until you get to the coast, where you ride along pretty beaches before turning around and coming back the way you came. We were expecting something that would take us to more landmarks around Ajaccio.
The bikes themselves are more uncomfortable and unforgiving than other e-bikes I've seen (they just feel like normal mediocre-quality bikes with pedal assist tacked on). This made the beginning part of the route along the main city road even more challenging; the combination of the narrow busy street, our lack of experience, and the difficulty of the bikes meant that it took us almost an hour to get to the coast. After that, we were too burnt out from the stress of getting there and the discomfort of the bikes to go very far along before turning back around.
Probably a fun experience for people who bike more consistently and are more comfortable biking in an urban environment to get through the beginning portion. If you're just lazy tourists like we were, though, there are better ways to see the city.

Our experience

Too congested with cars and construction to maneuver with the E-bike. Too hard with nap. Booking said there was an online app to follow but there was not.
Time wasters !

Booked it and they just cancelled it no explanation or offer of a different date.
I responded to the email and had no response very disappointing hopefully will get my money back !
Fantastic experience

It was NOT a tour. They just gave us a bike and we were supposed to go alone.
Not cool it is NOT a Tour at all
Stop yelling!!!

It was longer than a 10 minute walk from the port as stated in the description. The person giving us directions on the local map of the city did not speak English .I felt like I wasn’t given any instructions at all! I felt like I was playing a guessing game trying to interpret what she meant. It was like take the bike and ride . There are no bike paths you ride in the street with tons of traffic, landscapers and construction . Streets are narrow because cars are also parked and you’re trying to ride in the street. Navigating on a bike with cars and buses is difficult. People yelling at you to move over ! It was a very stressful experience! The beaches were beautiful and scenery .
Nice activity

Rided about 4hrs, it was fun. However be aware that you will ride on the main road since there's no bike path in the city, once you get to the Sanguinaire, it is fine.
Great experience with Appebike

Appebike was a great company to work with, we had an excellent tour and we were given excellent tour plans to follow. Any issues we had were taken care off no issues!!
Highly Reccommended!

Great way to see all the highlights of the city on your own.
The map could have been a little more detailed as the street names were very hard to find. We ended up lost andback where we started at one point, but we carried on and had a beautiful ride along the coast!
Would recommend, but make sure you get good directions on where to go after the statue of Napoleon...Much better than touring by bus!
We thought that we had...

We thought that we had signed up for a guided tour, but it turned out to be self-guided. However, the city was easy to navigate, and the coastal road had stunning views. We were very happy with our experience!
Bring a backpack with lots of water. NOT 10 minutes from port. Great bikes & shop!

We rented bikes for our family of 7. My main complaint was that my phone was hard to see in the bright daylight, so we had a hard time navigating where to go in the city, and it was hard for us as a group to stay together. Being American, I was also not used to riding on the street with traffic, so that took some adjusting. The city part was a little hairy, but I remember someone else saying in a review that once you get outside of that area, things opened up & became easier to ride. That is very true!! It was a gorgeous ride down to Parata, along the shoreline. If I were to do it again, I would skip some of the initial stops & just focus on riding the shore, and make sure I went for a swim at one of the many beaches along the way! The water was gorgeous but no one in my group would stop.
The bikes were great. Sad there isn't a water bottle holder but we had backpacks.
A couple other minor complaints - we wanted to rent the bikes earlier than our reserved time but could not get a hold of anyone at the shop. When we called, it said they were closed on Mondays, but they were definitely open! It is also NOT a 10 minute walk from port - more like 20 (and I consider myself a fast walker). I was able to get someone to reply on Viator through messaging, and once we got to the shop, the people there were very accomodating & incredibly kind even though I was frustrated. :-)
E-bike nice, Ajaccio is not a bike city.

We walked for about 20 minutes to the place. When we got there, we were given two big bikes. My reservation was for the little ruff ones. I specifically needed the little ruff as I am short (I even had to provide my height when reserving), and I have an injured leg so I need to be able to reach the ground. We started to decline the rental, so they brought out a little ruff for me. The bikes were nice and easy to ride, but Ajaccio is not a bike friendly city. The bike path is only a block long, then you have to go on the side walk (with people) or the street. Farther out, there is a dirt path which is okay. We tried to go to the light house, but decided to turn back as it would have taken us too long and we needed to be back to the ship. We returned the bikes and walked back to the ship around 4 p.m. Around 6 p.m., when I was able to connect via wifi, I found 3 missed calls on my Whatsapp and a message telling me to return the bikes or we would pay penalties. That was stressful, I couldn't sleep thinking my credit card would be charged. I replied to the message saying we had already returned them. The next morning, I got an email saying it was a mistake (not cool).
Fun and different way to tour a city
Erin_T, Jul 2022
We had spent the week going to museums and walking around new cities. This was a fun and very different way to see Ajaccio (and spare our feet). Riding the ebikes was so much fun that we will definitely do that again sometime. Our only regret is that we didn’t wear bathing suits under our clothes for the ride. We passed by several beautiful beaches but could only put our feet in.
Funny and practical

It was a funny journey with my young daughter. We enjoyed and discovered the city tour on electrical bike, from downtown till suburban alone by using the gps route guide given by agency. I want to tank the team for their availability and kindness

Super activité 👍🏼 le circuit est pas mal et permet de visiter Ajaccio (nous n’avions pas de voiture)
Beaucoup de monté mais avec le vélo électrique ça monte tout seul
