"Cupulatta" is the word for tortoise or turtle in the Coriscan language, and the focus at the center is on creatures from the testudine family. Walk through the park to view turtles, terrapins, and tortoises from across the world and learn more about the center's focus on research, breeding, and conservation. Take part in educational programs, spend time in the viewing areas, and browse the gift shop devoted to tortoise and turtle memorabilia.

  • Children under 5 visit free, and the park offers discounted admission for groups and kids ages 5 through 11.

How to Get There

A Cupulatta is located near the town of Carbuccia on the island of Corsica, about 23 miles (37 kilometers) or a half-hour drive from Ajaccio. If traveling from Ajaccio Airport, it's only 20 minutes by car or taxi. The center is easiest to reach by car, as public transportation is limited in the area.

When to Get There

The park is open daily from April through mid-November, including on Sunday and national holidays. Opening hours are from morning to early evening, with extended morning and evening hours from May 16 through Sept. 15. If you visit in summer, visit early to avoid the heat of the day.
