Me go dogsledding? Yup
Shirlee_Y, Apr 2024
I had never in my life thought about going dog sledding before, so when my friend suggested it I was hesitant. We went, and it turned out to be really fun! The whole experience was easy, we were well taken care of, we saw a side of Alaska that we never would've seen otherwise, and we fell in love with our tour guide and his dogs. Telling people about our trip afterwards, the dog sledding was the first thing mentioned

Carol_J, Mar 2024
Our musher was Joe Weber. He was excellent. He told us about his dogs, about racing, about Alaska, etc. He was friendly, knowledgeable and gave us lots of time to take pictures and pet the dogs. The day was sunny & beautiful (but cold). This was definitely one of the highlights of our trip.
Enjoyable

I never thought I would in Alaska doing a dog seldom adventure but it was an awesome experience that everyone has to try. The people are nice and helpful. I like how they lend you proper equipment if they see you're not dressed properly for the weather. The dogs are friendly and let you pet them.

Daily we offer 30 minute, 1 hour, 2 hour, and 4 hour aurora dog sledding trips. We highly recommend booking in advance for the longer tours. Our longer tours sell out quickly. Thank you for the review.

We loved the Dog Sledding!
Herb_F, Mar 2024
We had a great time overall in our Dog Sledding experience at Rod's Alaskan Guide Service. Starting with the meeting space - it's basically the store where you check in, change into your gear, stow your gear, etc. It's clean, very well organized, has ample space, very well thought out. One thing: the staff is keen on making sure that you are adequately dressed for the experience. They want you to have a good time, and they don't want you to be cold!! We had signed up for the 1/2 hour dog sledding tour. Our musher, Emily, was fun, personable, knowledgeable, and informative. Her dogs were equally fun, exuberant and joy-filled. We had a great time, however next time we're going to book a longer tour. It was over too soon. We did have plenty of time to play with and get to know Emily's dogs afterwards though, which we really enjoyed. Do yourself a favor and head to Rods Alaskan Guide Service for some really fun outdoor activities!
Response from Host, Mar 2024
Our longer tours (1 & 2 hour) can be booked directly through our website or by calling Rod's Alaskan Guide Service. Thank you for the review.

Great adventure!
John_F, Feb 2024
The facility and staff were amazing!! Everything was so clean and organized. Plenty of warm gear provided if anything was left at the house. Jimmy's dogs were great. So eager to take us out in the wilderness. Once done for the trip we got to give each dog on our team a tasty treat to thank them. Such a great experience.
Response from Host, Mar 2024
We ask guests to bring whatever warm outer gear they have and to dress in loose under layers. We are happy to provide any additional outer gear to keep you warm. Thank you for the review.
