Train ride

Had a very nice time taking a leisurely train ride to the Grand Canyon. Then having a guided bus tour to a few spots and being able to get some nice shots of the canyon. On the train ride back we had the pleasure of being "robbed" by bandits. We openly hid money for them to "steal". Met some nice people on the train and laughed a lot. It was a very nice and memorable day.
Once in a lifetime

Had a wonderful time. Very relaxing and very entertaining. A must is the Grand Tour when you get to the Canyon Village
Great adventure. Did not disappoint.

Back in 2003 a friend had gone on this trip and I thought it would be so fun. I’ve had her brochure in my travel folder since then. As part of our road trip to visit family, I decided now was the time. It did not disappoint! I loved the shootout at the station, the information and entertainment on the train. We arrived at the Grand Canyon before we knew it. We took the 1.5 hour Freedom bus tour which took us to two different view spots with time to walk around and take pictures and returned us to the station. We had plenty of time to explore the shops and views at the south rim before catching the train. The weather was perfect. It was a very memorable day.
We had a fantastic ride!...

Our PSA, ConyaRae (spelling?) was so informative, fun, and entertaining. We were in a first class car and she took great care of everyone in our car. I have already recommended it to our friends and family and my brother and father may do it in two weeks!!!
First trip to the Grand Canyon

Great experience for a first time visit. Not sure if the cost is worth when I take my second trip. All the staff were great. Tour guides actors and train staff were very well informed and entertaining.
Best way to visit Grand Canyon in a day!
RAFAEL_R, Oct 2023
Scheduled via Viator based on description of package as we've always wanted to take a train tour. Although a bit of a drive from Phoenix, we were greeted at the train station with our First Class passes ready to go--no waiting. We enjoyed a funny western show before the ride and then Mark, our car attendant, was informative, funny and attentive throughout the ride to and from the Grand Canyon. We were give the option to visit the beverage car but we enjoyed our travel in our car, in our seats and with Mark. Highly recommend this day trip to Williams and then to/from the Grand Canyon!
Wow!!!
Sue_L, Oct 2023
I met 3 women on the train and 2 different women on the bus who included me in their travels. Altitude was hard for me and made me slower with rough breathing. The train was wonderful. The Cabin Stewart Nancy Kept us informed, fed and entertained. The bus tour with the Park Ranger was well planned and enjoyable. We saw a full grown female elk who posed for pictures. There were others in the group too including young ones. The rim of the canyon was overwhelming and brought me to tears. The Geology museum was informative and a great spot to take pictures. Train trip home had the addition of a"train robbery" and a fiddler. Wonderful trip everyone.
An Enjoyable Adventure!

We traveled first class. The train was very comfortable. The staff was friendly and efficient. We enjoyed the snacks and beverages that were provided. Our guide, Rob, was excellent. He was knowledgeable and entertaining. We highly recommend this adventure if you enjoy trains and are in the area!
Train a must, tour a maybe.
Korinne_L, Aug 2023
The train was fun! Great entertainment! The tour was very short, and I think if I was to do it again, I wouldn't have done this part. I would have just walked around the area myself. There is plenty to see right where the train deboards. The lunch was very disappointing. Not a real buffet, only one option for lunch. But all that being said, the train ride and Grand Canyon views near the station and also on the tour were beautiful! The tour guide did do a great job with the two stops we went to.
Grand Canyon

I liked it when the Cowboy and Cowgirl sang songs in our cars. I also like the characters holding up the train. It was all awesome. I just wish that we could have looked around longer at the Grand Canyon maybe consider loading up at 6 pm to return to Williams. This would have given us time to eat at one of the restaurants and had time to shop as well. Overall we had a good experience. This was our first time to travel by train.
A lot of fun!!
Myra_L, May 2023
The train ride was great! Nancy was awesome - Very attentive and knowledgeable. The drinks and snacks were wonderful. The train robbery on the way back was a lot of fun!! A fabulous experience!!
Great train trip to the Grand Canyon
Suzanne_M, Apr 2023
We were on the train for our anniversary Nancy made our trip very fun and memorable!! We would probably not do the bus your next time, after getting off the train and then onto bus - we would have had that time to explore on our own! Bus driver was great - buffet at the lodge was not very good.
Our railcart attendant...
Kathryn_E, Mar 2023
Our railcart attendant Dennis was such a treasure, very kind and funny and the trip up to and from the Canyon was spectacular and full of information. I will be bringing as many people to this experience as I can for a unique way to see the Grand Canyom
Fun and stress free trip to GC
Blake_M, Mar 2023
First time we went to the Grand Canyon we did it via a tour from Flagstaff. During that trip we learned about the train. This time we did the train, first class, with motor coach tour of the south rim. The train was great, and better than traveling by car imho. The couch tour, was good as well because you got to see two famous viewpoints, without walking (you get out of the bus, but you don't have to walk to these locations from the train platform). Well worth it imho. For little kids they have a bank and train robbery (beginning and end of trip), they have people who play live music, and great cabin attendants.
Great and fun time

Went with my wife. It was a fun experience. Employees were great. I will recommend this to friends and family.
A unique experience
Chris_M, Jan 2023
Seeing the trees covered in snow and the elk herds on the train ride up was great. The train personnel were very friendly and attentive. The chairs were comfortable and the train was clean. This is my first experience riding a train other than a light rail and I would like to take a longer train ride in the future. It is a relaxing way to travel.
Best experience of my life
