The Itaipu dam was very interesting and worth the visit. Our guide was wonderful with a great sense of humour and tried to drive past as many interesting places as he could. We would have liked to have about 20mins to walk around the street market but we still saw a lot

A great experience to learn about the people and marvelous places of Paraguay cities near the Iguazú and Paraná rivers. Our tour guide was Virginia, and we had great time learning so much from her. In this tour, you will visit Itaipú dam (one of the 7 wonders of the modern world) and the stories behind its construction and the development of the cities around the area. Then we visited the museum El Mensú in Ciudad del Este to learn about the Guaraní culture and how the yerba mate became an important icon for the South America people. We also visited the Salto Monday falls and the center of the city for some food and shopping in local places. This is not the big mall shopping experience. It is more about meeting local people, hear them talking in guaraní, having some local food, and buying handcrafted Paraguay souvenirs. Traffic toward or from Paraguay can be hectic and this tour is the best way to cross the border and visit multiple sites without doing the crazy driving. Virginia was great and she never rushed the tour. We had many opportunities for family pictures and had a great time.

A wonderful tour! Bruna was a fantastic tour guide and her passion for Paraguayan culture shone through. I loved getting to gain an insight into life in Paraguay away from the shopping hell of Cuidad del Este.
Our tour lasted over nine hours in total and over that time, we visited the Itapu Dam, Saltos del Monday waterfall (so impressive!), the Tres Fronteras area that looks into Brazil and Argentina, a local museum about the history of the town, a popular restaurant to try Paraguayan food, and even a quick walk through a market in the shopping area of town.
If you're in the area to see Iguazu Falls and feel tempted to hop into Paraguay for a look around, this is the tour to take.

What a great time - don’t overlook a trip to Paraguay. Most of them seem to just take you over the bridge for shopping in Cuidad del Este. This tour took us to the impressive Itaipu hydroelectric plant, then to the Saltos Del Monday falls, a quick stop at a street market and then to a lookout of all three countries over the 2 rivers. Our driver Oliver was fantastic scooting us around and over the border. The real star was our guide Bruna. She knows so much about the area and really made the trip for us. Bruna has a great energy and is super friendly. She even sent us some pictures she took, and helped us retrieve a pair of glasses we left in the car. Abrigado Bruna!!!!!!

The tour operator did not show up to pick me up for the tour. I called twice and no one picked up. There was not an option to leave a message. I text twice with no response. I contacted them via the Viator app. No response. At this point it was too late to schedule a different tour with another company. So far Viator has been great about refunding money, so I assume this time will be no different.

We had a wonderful time with Virginia! Very knowledgeable and we were able to see many parts of Paraguay. She took care of everything at the border and made everything very simple. The waterfalls were beautiful. Very happy with this tour

We visited all the places described on the site -dam, museum and the Saltos Monday- but felt a bit rushed by the guide, also the tour didnt last more than 4h in total as we lost 1h waiting at the Dam’s welcome center just to watch a 15min video, so it’s quite expensive for what is offered. With that being said, it is a good option to know a bit of Paraguay and the Saltos are amazing.

We were very happy with the tourguide, as he took us to a couple of nice things within Paraguay. He also spoke English very well. If You have one extra day in Iguacu, I can recommend this activity.
