What To Expect

Meet in central Girona, and walk with your guide to Església de Sant Martí Sacosta, a church near the Pujada de Sant Domenech, home to the famous Girona staircase. As you explore, you’ll hear about the filming of Game of Thrones, and key season six scenes that were filmed in the city. It’s a Viator Exclusive experience that’s available nowhere else.

With tales of Ayra Stark and Jon Snow ringing in your ears, you’ll follow your guide around the wending alleyways of the Jewish Quarter. Admire the medieval architecture as you wander along the streets of Claveria and Sant Llorenc — settings that featured as Braavos in the HBO hit series.

Almost all sightseeing objects and buildings were supported by a story. The guide was very knowledgeable and very friendly and open to questions.

We were having a rainy week in Barcelona running out of things to do, so I’m glad we found this tour. Our guide Monica was knowledgeable about the city’s history and GOT story line. I was a bit uncomfortable hearing about how badly Jewish people were treated but it’s an important part of history, I suppose. I want to watch GOT again!

Favorite part of 48 hours in Barcelona

We had less than 48 hours in Barcelona so it was hard choice to leave it for half day. So glad we did! Took high speed train (very easy) to Girona it was stunningly beautiful and so fun to explore and see the GoT areas. Excellent, we had to rush back to see Sagrada but wish we had done that instead of Segway tour on different day and stayed longer in Girona to explore its many foodie restaurants (Michelin etc)

Had an amazing time learning about Girona and the GOT’s filming spots on this tour! Eduardo was our guide and he was great. It was a perfect mix of history and GOT’s facts. He even had pictures and video clips to go along with the filming sights which was super helpful to tie the scene to the location. If you like history and Game of Thrones this is a perfect tour for you. You will walk a bit, but it’s not bad and a great way to visit the city. You even get to walk around the city wall some. Highly recommend Eduardo and this tour!

'Ona was amazing as our tour guide. We spent 12 days in Bacelona and Tossa De Mar and the Game of Thrones walking tour was in the top three. 'Ona was great at pacing the tour, giving us history and showing us, via her tablet, the various scenes and how they mapped onto Girona. She allowed time for us to take lots of photos, grab water and rest on the day that was over 32C with blazing sun. She directed us well and gave us great tips on where to find a delicious lunch.

Our Guide Anna was great. She included lots of info about the Game of Thrones filming as well as historical details about Girona. Was very interesting. We had a group of about 11 people and everyone seemed to really enjoy. The only downside is that it was hot that day! Still enjoyed and would recommend. My kids are 18,20 and 26 and all really enjoyed themselves. Jane C.
