I really enjoyed the tour guide's explanations as well as the great overview provided. We saw a good range of plantings and special trees.

Enjoyed the historic aspects of the Gardens. Great views across north across the bridge. Rare pine trees; lily pond and the sub Artic house and indoor house were a feature.

It's such a beautiful place, with so much to see. Allow at least half a day and more if you are happy to lunch in the restaurant. Take the map offered and a camera to record your finds. I particularly liked the community garden where ABC Gardening films some of its segments. The Japanese Garden was superb. Our guide was very knowledgeable and happy to talk in depth.

Kelly my guide her knowledge, friendliness and exceptional customer service. Kelly was able to answer all my questions and in particular her knowledge of The Patch was exceptional. Her caring nature ensured I had a very memorable visit to the Botanical Gardens.

Learning about and seeing the Tasmania specific plants. Also, the history of the Gardens was fascinating, especially the “no whistling” regulation (spoiler alert!)

Private Golf Buggy Tour of Botanical Gardens

We had a very enjoyable and informative buggy tour of the Botanical Gardens. Our driver Graeme was extremely amiable and very knowledgeable. He was a volunteer. The Antarctic section was amazing with plants from Macquarie Island. The snow tipped Mount Wellington was in view always Well worth visiting. We then walked back to Hobart city. It was an easy 30 minute walk down hill.

This was a fascinating insight into the history of the gardens. Incredible floral displays and wonderful old trees ( the 200 year old cork tree was a highlight).
