What To Expect
Embark on the famous blue train from Kandy to either Ella or Nanu Oya when you book this train package. Make your own way to the Peradeniya Railway Station in Kandy or upgrade to include a ride from your accommodation. Departures are at 8:47am and 11:03am daily and seats are reserved in either 2nd or 3rd class, based on availability.

The communication with the Ticket coordinator was really easy. He answered all of my questions and the Tickets were dropped off at my hotel in time. I was really thankful for the good Support since we booked the Tickets quite last minute.
The train ride was great. Stunning Views and it wasnt even that crowded.

The train ride is a great experience and a way to see both locals and travellers enjoying Sri Lanka. The tickets were dropped to our hotel in the morning before our journey and everything was very smooth. The company were in touch on WhatsApp so everything felt very organised. The journey was very long (almost 7 hours from Kandy to Ella) so I would recommend travellers do a shorter journey, maybe just Nuwara Eliya to Ella. No need to do the whole thing.

Great experience. We had the train tickets dropped to our hotel the night before. We weren't sure what tickets we actually chose but they were perfect. Reserved seating in 3rd class. The train wasnt busy so we had four seats to ourselves. We moved seats during the journey. Right side first half then changed to the left. It was great. We also used this company for taxis between places. They offered a great price and were always reliable. The drivers often came early and were happy for us to stop whenever. 10/10 great experience

First of all: the train ride was amazing and you should definitely do it
But: the hassle about the tickets can be stressful, we wanted 2nd class reserved seats for the 8:47am train, but the night before they told us there weren’t any more available so we where disappointed. However we got 1st class tickets for the 11:03am train and they brought the tickets to our hotel the night before so for us everything worked out perfectly.

I would recommend going through this company if you aren’t able to secure tickets yourself through the official railway system 30 days ahead of your scheduled departure. We knew that by going through this company (and other similar companies) we would be paying substantially more than the actual ticket price but we also consider that as part of the cost of being a tourist in a foreign country so I can’t really complain about the markup.
In the weeks leading up the train ride, the company was easy to communicate with via WhatsApp and responded relatively quickly to my different questions. I asked if we could secure 2nd class reserved tickets for the earlier of the two trains (the one that departs around 8:00 or so) and was told that it wouldn’t be a problem and that our tickets were confirmed.
However, what did stress me out was finding out the day before that we weren’t able to get the tickets we had been told were confirmed. With more back-and-forth than I would have liked at that point in the trip, we did finally end up with 2nd class reserved tickets on the 11:00 train.
In the end, we had a lovely time on the train. My husband and I were lucky to have been sat next to each other in seats on the right-hand side of the train right next to a large window (the actual seat numbers you get seem to be luck of the draw).
Overall, I’m still glad we went through this company as we ended up getting *almost* what we were told we would and had a nice journey on the train. I would just suggest that anyone purchasing tickets this way go into it with open expectations and a somewhat flexible plan for the actual day of travel in case you do need to change train times or classes or whatnot.

100% recommend booking train tickets via this tour. Communication from Mahaweli was very clear and they dropped of the tickets at our hotel day before departure. All went smoothly and amazing seat tickets.
