We went on the 2 gorges on the 9 am tour. It was fantastic. Despite the 35 degree day it was cool on the water and very pleasant to walk the 450 meters to the boats waiting at the lower level for the second gorge. We had Joe for our tour guide. He is the best tour guide I have ever had in my 50 years of travelling. He was articulate, knowledgeable, interesting and responsible for all his passengers. I was particularly impressed with his range of facts about flora, fauna and geology not to mention the facts about the indigenous history and language. Highly recommended.

The water falls were beautiful with a lot of water going through them. The tour guide was very informative and funny with a good knowledge of the places we visited. He also kept us inform about how long we will be driving to the next site. The tour bus was very comfortable. When the water is high, I would remove the hot spring from the itinerary since there is nothing to see.

If you don’t wanna walk, then this is the best way to see the gorges from the bottom. The tour brings you across the first gorge, then do a little 500m walk across to the second gorge and then onto another cruise and back. Note that this is only for the dry season. It’s another tour in the wet season, pending river conditions. The guides were informative and funny, very interactive. Take the chance to see some fresh water crocs too!

The cruise was spectacular and the narration by the skipper very informative and engaging. Tea and coffee was available (although the water wasn’t very hot) and fresh fruit before the cruise which was an unexpected bonus.
