What To Expect

Meet your guide at a centrally located meeting place or wait in your Malaga hotel lobby for a pickup. Then, travel toward Granada with your guide and group. The historic town is a must-visit stop on any Spain vacation, but it’s the Alhambra that’s Granada’s main calling card.

Set in the hills beneath the sweeping Sierra Nevada mountains, the Moorish palace is home to dazzling displays of Islamic architecture that have earned it a place on the UNESCO World Heritage Site list. Discover the palace's standout sights on a tour, then check out the neighboring Charles V Palace and the Generalife Gardens. Have your camera ready to capture the vistas over Granada and Albayzin, the city’s old Muslim quarter.

Travel into Granada for a meal at your own expense, then make the most of some time at your leisure. After a Granada walking tour, return to your transport for the journey to Malaga. Your day trip ends back at the starting point.

We had 2 drivers and 2 guides. One guide was Alhambra only. All were professional and knowledgeable. Everything was on time. We had 2 crazies on the tour and the leader handed them very professionally. Everything on the description and what is included/ what to expect was done. The descriptions and what to expect are accurate and detailed enough to give you a good idea of the tour. I'm glad I took the tour.

Disappointed
PAUL_C, Mar 2024
Didn’t go as was told by tour guide at pickup point I wouldn’t get in without ID. I had been to Gibraltar so took my passport but didn’t expect to require ID within in Spain
Response from Host, Mar 2024
Dear PAUL_C Thank you for sharing this review, I regret to learn that you coudl not enter to the Alhambra by not bringing your ID, As all agencies are informed, the document details are requested to tramit the ticket entrance and requested during the tour, Best regards,
Canceled due to weather.

Cancelled due to weather. What more can I write? How much more would I have to write to explain it was canceled because of weather?
Response from Host, Feb 2024
Dear karen_S, The Granada full day tour on feb 9th took place as planned, it was not cancelled due to weather conditions, It saddens me to learn that you didn't attend the tour to Granada with Alhambra,by not being at meeting point at the indicated time, As per you last email with our company, on Feb 7th you indicated that you would be attending, Kind regards
I have seen the Alhambra!!
Vicki_O, Jan 2024
Just felt in awe to be a part of history! Be sure to bring your passport for proof of entry. Address wasn’t enough to locate the tour bus. Stood in front of the building in the dark and couldn’t find our coach! But all was good once onboard
Good tour

Ok tour
Nina, Dec 2023
Visiting the Alhambra is amazing! Well organized! Granada is a big city, exploring on your own is not easy to navigate especially on a time constraint! You easily can get lost with the narrow streets that look alike! That’s the part of the tour that I dislike ! Overall, it’s ok!
Terrible raining day!
karen_k, Apr 2022
We were scheduled to go the day of the Sahara sand storm and pouring rain. We were cautioned to not be outside during these conditions due to poor air quality. I tried to cancel but was told no! I can't subject myself to unhealthy conditions and the tour should have been canceled.
Alhambra visit
Freedom144106, Oct 2019
The bus was late, and when we called Julia Travel, after some good minutes for finding someone speaking in English, a nervous lady told me there there are another 20 people waiting for the same bus, so why do I fuss about. As if the information that we are not the only ones left to wait in the street should have been enough. The guide was bossy, when he spoke, no one else was aloud to murmur:-), but well prepared for the trip. The local guide in Alhambra was a real pleasure! passionate about the topic, a lot of interesting information, an attentive approach toward us, so congrats!
Small group tour??
Helen_S, Oct 2019
Booked through this website as advertised as small group tour. So was very surprised when 52 seater coach turned up, and there only appeared a couple of empty seats when we departed. El Alhambra itself is stunning though the tour itself is fast paced and we did have problems understanding the guide. Be warned on leaving the attraction there is a steep walk down to the town centre then after a couple of free hours in Granada another 20 minute walk back to the coach again at a fast pace. You have to be fit!!
A must tour
Chris_C, Sep 2019
The Alhambra and the gardens were amazing and a must visit. The guides were very good, especially Andy who described the Alhambra and gardens very well.
Alhambra is nice, but visiting Granada was "nothing"
Birgitte R, Jul 2019
Alhambra Palace and the gardens was a nice experience, but the stop in Granada down town was 2,5 hours with no value.
Satisfactory

It was all you can expect from a one-day trip. We've seen all of the Alhambra necessary parts (Nasrid Palaces included), and also a bit of Granada. A little bit rushed due to midday hours of visiting Alhambra, but enjoyable nonetheless.
Al Hambra tour
Anne_M, Jun 2019
We, my sister 2 brothers sister in law and husband found the trip to Alhambra great. The bus, the tour guide on the bus was very attentive. His English was good and easy understood. The alhambra was magnificent and all be that we walked for 3 hours, it seemed like 30 minutes, we were so engrossed with the splendor of the place. I would recommend anyone to go and take the guided tour as the whole of the palaces and gardens are taken in.
Alhambra Palace
Jeemol U, Jun 2019
Very good site. The tour rushed us through the main Nasrid Palace, which was disappointing. Spent most of our time in the gardens!
Way to the Alhambra was not so great what once you are there it's amazing!
LauraMilena_D, May 2019
I would strongly recommend to remove the guy on the bus. Hearing random facts about the region in 4 different languages is very annoying, especially when he doesn't make a correct translation (at least the German version was very bad) The guide in the Alhambra was great! Perfect German and had very interesting stories about the place. We had a great time there! After the tour we had around 90 minutes in the city center which basically it's only enough for eating something. It could be better to just return one hour earlier.
Alhambra
Kathleen_J, May 2019
The pickup was very smooth and the drive to Alhambra good and also offered one comfort stop. The tour guide Paco was very friendly, knowledgeable, spoke different languages clearly (including English) and gave us good commentary all the way there. The tour pick up from Alhambra was well managed and our guide was excellent. Note for some (not us) but there is a lot of walking and steep steps for those less able. Thoroughly enjoyable. What I didn’t like was the Granada town drop. There is no tour and virtually no guidance. The bus parking is too far from the centre of town and by that stage Paco was tired and probably only wanted lunch (perhaps understandably). Nonetheless it was a very disappointing component of the tourm
Excellent day trip

This was a great day to Grenada and the Alhambra palace. The guides were excellent and well informed. The Alhambra palace is magnificent. This is a wonderful day trip.
mistreatment of elderly event participants and poor communication with all participants
SUSAN_B, Apr 2019
An elderly woman had considerable pain and difficulty during the 20 minute downhill walk from the Alhambra. The guide left her behind with her husband in Granada, a crowded urban area. When we stopped in a plaza for free time to find lunch, the guide complained to us that he would have to use his free time to go back and find them. The organization should provide participants with the name and address of the bus meeting point (which was over a mile from the Alhambra) so that participants can make their own way to the meeting point without being lost. Verbal announcement of a meeting point in a strange city before people realize they will need it, is not a professional solution. The guide's attitude was shameful.
Fantastic experience!
Carina_C, Apr 2019
Everything was very smooth, the pickup was in time and easy to find and the guide at the Alhambra, Maria-Jose, was so friendly and really knew a lot of facts and could answer our questions.
Alhambra is amazing! The tour is teribble
Dimitri H, Mar 2019
We where picked up in the morning at 8 by a bus that was already packed! And some couples where taking dubble seats. We stopped after a hour for a 30 min “tecnical” stop. In the bus there was a guide (jean-piere) who we didnt understand all.. and we didnt see him much the whole tour. We where at the alhambra and had to wait 20 minutes before we could in because he lost members of the group.. the guid anthonio inside the alhambra was amazing! And knew alot. Then we where promissed to had free time in the city around 2,5 hours and we had to walk from the alhambra down to the city.. now are young people but there where also older people around 70 who had to walk also.. when we where finaly in the city, they told us that we had 1HOUR free time.. so everyone was upset about it!! And after that one small hour we had to walk again but now for 20 minutes to the bus again, instead of picking us up at the city. On the way back after a 45 min we had to stop for another “tacnical” problem, and guess what?! At the same resturant?.. then we noticed its just a deal between them so we eat and drink there something. Instead of letting us stop there 2 times they could have gaven us more free city time. Overall, the alhambra is beautiful! But i would never recoment this tour. Viator thankyou, tankyou for the worst tour i have ever been on.
