Hotel Pickups operate between 7:00-7:30am through the Perth CBD, with 8:00am as our tour departure time from the city. The operator will contact you via Viator messaging service on receipt of booking with your pickup time information.

What To Expect

Take a full-day detour from Perth to discover the many delights of Margaret River and the southwest. After morning pickup at your hotel or a central meeting point, travel aboard a comfortable coach on the drive south. Along the way, stop to stretch your legs and enjoy morning tea (own expense) at Busselton Jetty, the Southern Hemisphere’s longest wooden jetty.

Further on, settle into a table at Cheeky Monkey Brewery for beer and tastings and a gourmet platter lunch. In the afternoon, explore Margaret River’s natural attractions. Admire spectacular limestone formations and learn about the area’s ancient geologic history on a guided tour of Mammoth Cave.

Drive through the scenic and serene Boranup Forest to Australia’s most south-westerly point, marked by the Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse, and experience the spectacular view of where the great Southern and Indian Oceans converge. Circle back to the township of Margaret River and enjoy a bit of free time to browse shops along the main street, before driving back up to Perth, your full-day tour concluding with hotel drop-off in the late evening.

*For Monday and Tuesday departures, Lunch and beer/wine tastings take place at Black Brewing Co. instead.

From the stop at the jetty, Burtons Winery, lighthouse, Margaret River and even the roadhouse, Chris’ knowledge of WA was interesting, informative and downright funny at times. Combine that with Sues careful driving, made this tour exceptionally enjoyable and I HIGHLY recommend

Fabulous experience.

Had a fabulous day. Great places to sample the area. Peter, our bus driver was very informative, super friendly and a genuine nice guy. I recommend this trip to anyone that hasn't got time or transport to do a more intensive visit to the area. Big day but definitely worth it. Thankyou for a wonderful day.

Great tour guide on a discovery tour!

Jonathan, the bus driver, tour guide and raconteur is a master of his craft! He’s a tremendous asset to a nice discovery tour of the region. Thank you for the entertaining, knowledgeable and interesting commentaries during the ride. PS: it’s not a wine tour but a discovery tour, was a bit disappointed not to visit more wineries.

A great taste of the Southwest of WA

The communication before the tour was great. Pickup place was extremely convenient and pickup was punctual to the minute, I had done a very similar tour some years ago, but the visit to the big and beautiful limestone Mammoth cave was new to me. I had enjoyed the Busselton jetty and Cape Leeuwin previosly, so I looked forward to refreshing the memories. There were changes in the places and differences in the itineraries of the tours but the most important difference was made by our guide/driver Jonathan He knows so much about the history, geography, biology and traditions of the country. His love of the land and the environment is palpable and he has a great sense of humour I shall remember this tour with fondness.

Best attractions of Margaret River in one day

This tour covered the main attractions of Margaret River in 13 1/2 hours. Our tour guide’s name is Jonathan who, despite being American, knew so much about the region and was very passionate with his job. He gives you tips on what other places to cover if you do come back to Margaret River. I would suppose that sufficient time is allocated to each one of the attractions covered but sometimes you do wish you had more time. We were allocated 38 minutes in Busselton Jetty but apparently that wasn’t enough to cover the 3.6 km return distance so I ended up running/sprinting to avoid missing the tour bus. The Cheeky Monkey Brewery/Di Latte Estate was a good spot for lunch and wine tasting and the Mammoth Caves were really impressive too. But for me the highlight of the tour was the Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse. Unfortunately one is not able to do the lighthouse tour due to time constraints

The driver was excellent. He gave us many facts about the areas we were passing through. Busselton was a fabulous place. Lovely to sit by the jetty in the sunshine having a coffee. The Mammoth Caves were spectacular!

Guide’s hospitality and humour sense is incredible. One suggestion: allot half an hour more to climb Leeuvin Lighthouse and include the entry ticket fee in the package

Doggie daycare winery. Omg baby wine beer and fantastic chicken burgers. The best I have Eva had. Friendly reminder caves are the most scary place to see. But the busso pub is the way to go. Lighthouse was little to far but the music was a pleasure meeting with you. Family place to go is Bunbury. So many happy people. Biomolecular boom plastic....

Fantastic tour. Got to see a few sights with very insightful information along the way from our driver/tour guide Le. We had a friendly bunch of people on board which helps with a full day's tour.

Expensive trip with no lunch or wine tasting at Margaret R winery but nice scenery & capable driver.

Disappointing tour not fault of competent driver but poor itinerary ! Tour should b run in reverse with nice lunch at a Margaret R winery with wine tasting followed by stop at Margaret R town, Leeuwin Lighthouse ( which was interesting but coffee shop surprisingly close) & brief stop at Busselton. Mediocre lunch at brewery instead of winery & jug of beer instead of wine tasting !!

A long but very varied and interesting tour. Our guide was exceptionally knowledgeable and we learned so much about this part of WA. High;y recommend but beware the lunch is burgers - not an issue for most folk I know but I just don’t like them at all.

Le was our tour guide and to say he was fantastic would be an understatement. We had an awesome time and Le was so good at making sure we learnt lots about the area and that we knew what time to get on and off the bus. The caves were great. Highlight of the day even though we would’ve liked to stay there a bit longer. Great trip to do with family/ friends and even solo as people are social. Long day, but overall a really great day

Enjoyed the tour. Glenn was a great informative guide who is passionate about his country. Dipped into Busselton, a vineyard/brewery, Augusta, Leewin and Margaret River. It would have been nice to have a bit more time at the vineyard and hear explanation of the wines we were drinking. Overall I enjoyed the day and met some lovely people.

Another very good trip from pinnacle tours, the description of the trip is spot on, this is a highlights day and wow what highlights they are. Busselton is stunning, Cape Leeuwin is naturally wild and wonderful. Just a beautiful place to see. The Caves are magnificent with stalagmites and stalactites galore, a geological delight. Peter the driver was great, managed the timings at each spot to perfection and the commentary was insightful and fun. The tour has left me seeing some incredible scenery and makes me want to go back to explore more. This is a must do trip from Perth.

Too long distance for a day trip

The good - knowledgeable coach leader. The bad -1) too long a trip to be squeezed into a day. Perth to Augusta and back all in a day, with only half an hour for each place of interest besides lunch, felt like we are just trying to cover the distance. If you would like a day trip from Perth, stopping at Margaret river would be more ideal. 2) bus is rather dirty - I cleaned the seat w wet wipes and the wipe was stained. This should be looked into 3) lots of pick up and drop off - made to get ready early just to go round the city to pick up clients but I guess this is just part of the deal.
