    Kabah and Uxmal
    Mabel_B, Apr 2024
It was well put together except for the timing. It is a very hot season in Yucatan and we arrived to the first visit around 10:00 am. By the time we visited Uxmal it was past noon and super hot. The tour itself was very informative with plenty time to take pictures and to get to know the Mayan Culture. The driver and the tour guide were very nice and accommodative. The lunch was excellent and the chocolate experience as well
    Response from Host, Apr 2024
The time we arrive at each visit is already accounted for, the time does not make any difference in the weather at the place Before or past noon, the heat will be the same as Yucatan weather works
You cannot miss this tour, it's better than Chichen Itzá, by a lot!
    mgarriga28, Apr 2024
If you have to decide between Chichen Itzá and Uxmal and Kabah, don't even think twice and get this tour! Uxmal is a whole city with many structures most of which you can climb. You can also see everything from a scenic lookout point. Crowds are smaller, there are many spots with sunshade where you can rest from the heat, and enjoy the silence. You can hear the echoes better. Certified guides are all trained to give you pretty much the same information, so you will receive the same basic info whether you go to Chichen Itza or Uxmal. The lunch provided was better than other tours I've been to, but keep in mind that they don't accept credit cards for the drinks, which you have to pay. If you like steaks, order the Poc Chuc, which is like a large and thin pork steak. Iot was excrllent! Kabah has warrior statues and you can climb to see them up close and see how they mutilated their faces to look more menacing to their enemies. Really, you cannot miss this tour!
    Response from Host, Apr 2024
All ruins have something special for everyone! Uxmal and Kabah have structures to appreciate upclose and even climb them, our staff will do their best to share the Mayan Culture History We are happy that you got to enjoyed it! Yucatan and the Mayan Culture have plenty more to offer We hope to see you on your next adventure!
    Educational and enjoyable
    Moses_D, Mar 2024
Rafael was informative and educational during the tour. His explanation added details about the sights of the Maya ruins. I truly enjoyed the tour.
    Response from Host, Mar 2024
Thank you! We'll make sure to commend Rafael for his performance during the tour Yucatan has plenty more to explore, we would love to share more adventures with you
Could do it on my own
    Sylvain_L, Mar 2024
Took the tour with my mother. Somewhat underwhelming as far as logistics. Very basic explanations and some parts not accessible for an elderly person with mobility issues. The ruins are amazing and would visit on my own without an organized group. Lunch was average.
    Response from Host, Mar 2024
This tour was never recommended for anyone with mobility issues. Going there by yourself with a person with mobility issues could have gone much worse, you could get lost or get into a medical emergency Our staff gave much information about the ruins, it's important to be close to the group in order to not miss anything about the explanations
Incredible time and incredible tour guide!
    Taylor_R, Mar 2024
Denny was an absolutely incredible tour guide... and photographer! He was so knowledgable, funny, and happy to answer all of our questions. We truly had the best time and learned so much from him!
    Response from Host, Mar 2024
Thank you! We appreciate your comments towards the guides performance For them it's important to share their history, we are glad that you enjoyed the ruins and the staff
Decent tour of Uxmal and Kabah. Choco-story was fun too
    Justin_H, Mar 2024
It was a good tour overall and schedule was satisfactory for seeing the sites of Uxmal, Kabah, and the Choco-story. I thought Uxmal was better than Chichen Itzá — fewer crowds, lots of structures. Only negatives were that the guide seemed to struggle with English compared to other tours we’ve had. She tried hard and was nice. Still, that was a small negative. Also, the lunch was kind of mediocre and served a little bit late in the day. Overall: I’d take the tour again because it goes to these sites and was efficient overall. Worth doing.
    Response from Host, Mar 2024
Thank you for your notes The guide on turn does speak english, it's important to stay close to the group, otherwise you won't hear the information correctly.
    Air conditioned van
    Amy_W, Mar 2024
The air conditioned car was very nice and the driver was courteous. It was a nice tour just nothing particularly special. I wish I had booked directly with the tour company it would have been less expensive and then the money spent for the experience received would have matched better.
    Response from Host, Mar 2024
Buying online has it costs, the extra money you spent goes for the personal attention, the payment security and the hassle free purchase Buying directly with the supplier does not have all that
    No nonsense spectacular day!
    Matt_R, Mar 2024
Our tour guide was Pedro and he included interesting remarks and knowledgeable facts during each segment of this tour. Even mixing in some humor from time to time! I thoroughly enjoyed this tour and recommend it for anyone with a curiosity about Mayan civilizations.
    Response from Host, Mar 2024
Thank you! We try to keep all the nonsense away Pedro is one of ours best guides, we'll make sure to commend him. Our staff's goal is for everyone to notice and appreciate all that the Mayan Culture has to offer There's plenty more to explore!
    Great experience
    Nazli_E, Feb 2024
The tour covered all the historical places and pedro as the team leader was great with sharing all the history of the places. Hiwever, it would be great if the tour started sooner as we could skip the hot time and have lunch earlier.
    Response from Host, Feb 2024
Thank you for your comments! We'll take note for future changes
Great sites but the commentary is not in English.
    Sandra_B, Feb 2024
Overall, we enjoyed the tour. The visits to Kabah and Uxmal were the highlights. However, contrary to the Viator description of the tour, which indicated the tour would be in English, the commentary from the guide was 90% in Spanish. We were told to be at the meeting site 10 min early but the tour guide showed up 25 min later, which caused a bit of confusion at first. Also, we spent over 1 hr and 45 min at the Choco Story which was too long, causing lunch to be delayed and served at 16:00 (4 pm).
    Response from Host, Feb 2024
The tour is conducted in english and spanish, all the history information were given in both languages If you saw and heard the guide talking more in spanish, that's because the spanish speaking customers talked to him more than you You can't expect the guide to talk in english more than he has to if you don't even try to chat with him or get involved in the tour We have multiple good reviews of them speaking propper english, that is from customers who actually interact with him
Grand Mayan Ruins without the Crowds
    Charles_L, Feb 2024
While the tourist masses head to Chichen Itza, Uxmal and Kabah are relatively unexplored, and I often had whole areas to myself. Given Uxmal’s and Kabah’s scale and unique features, I actually found them more interesting and impressive than some better known tourist sites closer to Cancun. Our guide was excellent, easily conversing in Spanish and English and fully knowledgeable about the ruins’ Mayan history. She struck the right balance between guided tour and letting us explore on our own. All in all, I highly recommend this tour; it was perhaps the best from my trip.
    Response from Host, Feb 2024
Thank you! Kabah and Uxmal are indeed places that go unnoticed Our guides try to give as much information and history as possible while at the same time giving freedom to self explore
    Amazing Uxmal
    Bonnie_M, Feb 2024
The first sighting of Uxmal & the interior court yard with the amazing ancient carvings! Our guide was very knowledgeable & enthusiastic about sharing the story of Uxmal & Kabah.
    Response from Host, Feb 2024
Uxmal is an amazing site that has been well preserved for many years, it makes us happy that more and more people and getting to know it! Thank you for the complements towards the staff, they do their best to make the adventure special!
Our guide (see photo with Uxmal in his sunglasses) was fantastic!
    SA_B, Feb 2024
Our guide and driver were great. We felt well looked after and it was hugely informative and fun. Very good value. The chocolate history was the weakest part, but still full of interesting information and artifacts and we certainly weren't expecting a mini-zoo there! Lunch was good, the obsidian store had a fascinating talk and samples of 4 liquors! Uxmal was as good as Chichen-itza if not better and Isamel was delightful. If you can, go, as you won't regret it!
    Response from Host, Feb 2024
It's important for us staff to make the experience as special as possible Uxmal and Kabah are hidden treasures that most people doesn't get to know. We are glad that you got the chance and that you enjoyed it
    Loved Uxmal
    Robert_P, Feb 2024
Victor was our driver and guide for this tour. He was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic about Uxmal and the history of the local area. The tour was well paced and very enjoyable. Uxmal was the best site we have visited on this trip. Communication with tour operator was good and everything was very well organised. Thank you Victor for a memorable day.
    Response from Host, Feb 2024
Thank you for the kind comments towards our team! We truly appreciate it Uxmal & Kabah are great ruins sites and our work is to show it to everyone. It's important for us to spread the beauty and culture of Mexico Mexico has still plenty more to offer!
    Totally satisfied.

A great day with Maurice and Francesco the driver.. a good number of travellers.. 11 total I believe… Great translations in Spanish and English. Was conducted evenly and clearly.. a great comfortable van and seats.. although it was nice when the music was quieter. Just a personal preference. I highly recommend this tour.. amazing Mayan ruins and the chocolate tour was above and beyond what I expected!!! Perfect day.. with Maurice a knowledgeable guide and a wonderful person, thoughtful and pleasant!!! Thankyou for the wonderful tour!!’ A great dinner was included!! Fantastic tour—with a different tour operator
    Cynthia_H, Dec 2023
We took this tour with Colíbri Tours in late December. There were several good points. The tour itself was extremely comprehensive and a good value, the best part being the ruins at Uxmal, which are absolutely stunning and very extensive. Lunch at a nearby restaurant was excellent, with good service and very tasty chicken pibil. The driver, Adam, did a great job navigating both city and country roads at a decent clip. The tour guide, Denny, is personable and a good hustler on behalf of the various people along the way who provided us with service, not to mention a good dancer (he drew one of the group into an impromptu merengue at the restaurant, so it was lunch and a show). I appreciated his kind treatment of my relative, who suffered a recent leg injury and had trouble walking. Denny spent time with her because the injury prevented her from exploring the ruins. Denny also honored a newly married couple who were part of our group. On the flip side, there were several negative aspects. We returned to the hotel drop off point three hours late, with everyone completely exhausted. The entire tour ran late, and we didn’t eat lunch until close to 3pm. The tour was billed as in English, but it was bilingual, making the tour guide’s explanations take twice as long, and the English version wasn’t as comprehensive. While Denny spent time with my relative, I did not appreciate his calling out her injury as the reason he didn’t join the rest of the group or was hanging back at times to “check on her” and so she “wouldn’t be alone,” which came across as extremely condescending. The ruins at Kabah were underwhelming contrasted to Uxmal. The music played during the hour and half bus rides there and back was stereotypical U.S./ British/ Australian pop from 1950s through 1980s. I would have preferred Mexican music in Spanish or, better yet, if the tour guide had told us about the history of the region and the sites. The process of getting tickets at Uxmal was confusing and the tour guide was unclear in explaining the breakdown of the costs. The tour operator should have included the entrance fees in the tour price so that the tour guide could pay for everyone at once. The tour operator should definitely advise people in advance that, at the first two stops at a gas station and at Kabah, you have to pay five pesos to use the restrooms and for toilet paper. If you take this tour, I advise you to bring pesos and a roll of toilet paper along with soap or hand sanitizer. At the chocolate museum, we were drawn into a purportedly shamanic ritual that made a few of us uncomfortable, and left the group with no time to explore the museum exhibits on our own. There were no vegetarian options at the restaurant. But the biggest issue is that Denny was extremely flirtatious and touchy feely with all the females (not the men, BTW) from the elderly to the teenagers—including a preteen—which makes me increasingly upset after the fact.
    Response from Host, Dec 2023
The tour is listed as Spanish and English, there is no mention anywhere about it being exclusively in English. The guides gave information and history about the sites on well spoke english, we have plenty of travelers from all over the world and almos everyone compliments the communication skills of our staff Other customers asked why one of the guides was falling behind with a single customer, for transparency he informed them that it was a special case due to an injury so everyone can be at easy about his on and off absence You could have easily requested any type of music to the guides instead of just sitting on it. The guides can't know what you are thinking unless you ask The information about the price of the entrance of the ruins was clear at the tour description and also at your ticket, the entrance can't be included since the federal institution that manages the ruins only accepts payments directly at the ruins The Mayan Ceremony is advertised in the tour description, it's not mandatory, you could have just say no to it. Most people like it and wants to participate and that's why it's part of the tour There was no mention anywhere about vegetarian dishes being available The guide Denny friendliness was not inappropriate in any way. You yourself in this review talked about the dance at the restaurant. Merengue is known to be a close touch dance, and again, it was not mandatory but open to anyone that wants to participate

Uxmal and the Chocolate Factory ceremony. It was also nice to walk through the trails in the rescue area and see some of the animals.
