Saint Steven Monastery is closed on Mondays. Due to this fact, on this day of the week Rousanou Monastery will be visited
The monasteries have a strict dress code: men must wear trousers and long sleeves, women must wear a long skirt. If you do turn up in shorts, trousers and skirts will be provided.

Guide was very knowledgeable and informative… I learned a lot on the trip. An unexpected highlight was the Byzantium church… it is small but beautiful, and puts in context the monasteries we saw later. Vantages points were more beautiful at sunset than i expected and more so than on the morning tour we took. We saw only 1 monasteries vs 4 on our morning tour, so if you really want to visit the monasteries, this tour should be a complement instead of a replacement.

The tour was great. The bus very comfortable. The views spectacular. My only regret is to have booked through Viator because they actually don't apply the same prices policy as the organizers so I ended up missing on a student discount.

Breathtaking views and witty asides

Meteora is one of the most captivating places in Europe, if not the world (and it can be absolutely gorgeous in November!), and I found this tour to be a perfect introduction to the landscape. Chris made me laugh out loud several times with his wryer comments, which is very unusual for me on a sightseeing tour. The monasteries, besides occupying some of the most dramatic topographical positions, are among the most beautifully ornate places of worship in Greece. The trip was perfectly timed with the sunset. The whole experience was very satisfying. I also took a half-day hike with Visit Meteora which was terrific as well and which I can highly recommend.

Although we didn’t get to experience a sunset because of the local cloudy conditions, we still had an amazing time. I recommend this tour and the morning tour to be able to see 4 different monasteries. We went in November so it was a little cold and rainy. I’d would’ve brought warmer clothes. The guide was very knowledgeable and the drive was pleasant

We had a smooth pickup at our hotel where the guide and driver arrived in a clean, comfortable van equipped with Wi-Fi. Our extremely knowledgeable guide, Christos, knew the area well and the best locations and provided humor. Our driver Constantine was pleasant and we felt very safe as he maneuvered winding roads.

A must see adventure

The guide was knowledgeable, friendly and entertaining. The views were all gorgeous! The tour bus had AC and picked us up on time at the agreed departure point. We visited some of the places and only took pics from afar for others (temples). If you are staying in Athens and taking the train to Kalambaka for the tour, be aware there are no trains back after 18:00 (6pm) so plan to stay in the area. The hotels are super cute there. Anyway, definitely recommend the tour. I’d even say it’s a must.
