Overview

Learn about life in the Jamaican countryside with this adventure excursion, which combines ATV adventure with rural exploration. You'll head out to the countryside on an ATV, where you'll stop for swimming, get to see a ganja (marijuana) field, and sample fresh fruit. After you're done, you'll head back to your staging area for a homemade lunch.

The attraction is situated at approximately 1 hour 15 minute from montego bay. Time stated are APPROXIMATE pickup times, and not tour start times. Any hotel in the Montego Bay area, but hotels in trelawny and runaway bay, ocho rios(royalton BW/WS, ocean coral spring, excellence, bahia principe etc) will attract a additional fee for transport. Very important to have drivers licence to drive

What To Expect

After pickup from your Montego Bay hotel, travel about 75 minutes to Roaring River, where you meet your first guide who takes you on a tour of the area. See coffee being roasted, sip a fresh juice, then meet your ATV guide. (Please note: a driver’s license is required to drive an ATV.)

After a quick briefing, you’re off, roaring through forest, fields, farms, and tracks that would be hard to find independently. Enjoy a swim in a natural mineral pool and a visit to a ganja field, then taste fruit fresh from the trees.

Drive back to the base station in time for a fresh-cooked lunch made with market produce, before your original tour guide brings you back to your driver to return to your hotel.

This was amazing! I loved learnimg the culture, the community, the tour of their beautiful mountains, the demonstration of using herbs from the land, the people are genuine. Gabriel and Leroy was awesome. The jump off the bridge was exhilarating and good for my soul. Cannot wait to go back. Thank you for being so welcoming 😊

The entire experience is. incredibly awesome from being welcomed with drinks to having an incredible trip through the countryside, then to take a dip in refreshing spring water and finishing it off with an excellent meal produced and made locally…. also the team is so fantastic and so knowledgeable I can’t wait to come back. They made me feel like I was going home.

I rarely do things twice but I will absolutely be taking this tour when I return to Jamaica. The entire tour was amazing. Our driver, Junior, made us feel super comfortable during the ~1 1/2 hour ride from our hotel. When we got there we were greeted worh lots of smiles. Our guides Chris and Kelim were amazing. They tailored each experience to us as we were the only ones on our tour. Seeing real life Jamaica was worth the long drive and every penny.

This was a very informative and fun tour! The description on the website seems to vary a bit from what you actually get on the tour (probably depends on the tour guides you are paired with). Our roundtrip driver, Junior, was excellent - talkative and willing to answer questions. We made one stop at a fruit stand on the way to the ATV tour and bought a coconut and ate a naseberry (delicious!). Once we got to the Rasta Safari location, we were greeted with a Jamaican "energy drink" not coffee or fruit juice as it states (totally fine with us) by the owner, Phil. Our first guide, Richie, walked us to to the ATVs where we got to taste and smell multiple items - lemongrass, Allspice, almonds, okra, and more and also learned about different plants and trees in the village. Then we were connected with two guides, Carlos and Andre, for the ATV portion. Along the ATV ride we made quite a few pit stops. There was a bit of pressure to buy things at the stops because there was nothing else there to see/do. The ATV ride was really nice and it was fun to see the locals and all of the animals - cows, goats, horses, roosters. We also tasted watermelon and mango as we rode along. The lunch was delicious and the bathroom facilities were spotless! One of the most surprising factors for us was that we were on the tour with no other guests. We didn't mind being alone on the ATV portion of the tour but it would have been nice to interact with other tourists during the meal or pit stops along the ATV ride. We were told this is how they run it but we do not recall reading that anywhere. If you are planning to do this trip (which we would recommend), be sure to bring enough cash to tip up to four people, purchase food/drinks, and souvenirs or be comfortable saying "no thanks" to the offerings. We stayed in Montego Bay but this was still about an hour from our hotel (Secrets Wild Orchid) so definitely plan for the amount of time the roundtrip ride will take too.

Had an amazing experience. The staff was so welcoming and helpful. Our tour guide on the safari let us top to take millions of pictures and willing to take videos of us while on the route. I give our transportation driver a 10/10 Owen was amazing. He picked sugar cane for us, gave of a history lesson during our ride to the excursion and we stop to taste fresh fruit. I recommend own for your transportation driver he was exceptional I’ll asking for again when I bring my family down.

This experience was awesome from the time we were picked up until the time we were dropped off. We were able to experience the landscape of Jamaica better than you ever could going from the airport to the resort. If you are considering doing something off resort - this is the one you should pick!

Our tour guides made this trip outstanding!! They were all so informative & never rushed us throughout the tour. Our ride through the rocky terrains was amazing! You actually get to see the REAL side of Jamaica!! The locals and their little ones are great! Our driver Junior made us super comfy and showed us a couple hidden gems on the island! We started to tour with Alisha(sorry if I spelled that wrong) Miller & Dino! It rained a little so we waited and had a little drink to literally WAKE us up lol I love that saying! Once the tour is finished you end with a lovely vegan meal!! & coming from a meat eater the food was sooo good! You will no regret this tour!
