What To Expect

Traditional Ghost Walk 

Follow your guide, an expert storyteller and a professional actor, through Old Montreal to discover haunted places where Montreal’s dark, gruesome history unfolds. 

The itinerary of this themed tour will take you in different streets and alleys of Old Montréal, from Places Royale to Bonsecours Market. As you explore the city streets in search of notorious criminals and villains, you’ll hear fascinating stories about crimes, hangings, fires, witchcraft and mysterious phenomena that stump even ghost experts. Fascinating tales await you! 

Along the way, you will discover unexplained phenomena and outdoor locations where disturbing and significant events have taken place. You will hear unsettling stories and legends that unveil the sinister past of Old Montréal. At the end of it all, you will be left wondering if ghosts really do haunt Old Montréal...

  • Our Traditional Ghost Walks will depart only when the minimum of four participants will have booked the visit. We will notify you the day of your visit at noon should your visit be canceled. You will then have the option to reschedule your tour at no additional cost or we will issue a full refund.
  • This tour/activity will have a maximum of 25 travelers

Cancellation Policy

You can cancel up to 24 hours in advance of the experience for a full refund.

  • For a full refund, you must cancel at least 24 hours before the experience’s start time.
  • If you cancel less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time, the amount you paid will not be refunded.
  • Any changes made less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time will not be accepted.
  • Cut-off times are based on the experience’s local time.
  • This experience requires a minimum number of travelers. If it’s canceled because the minimum isn’t met, you’ll be offered a different date/experience or a full refund.

SECRETS BEYOND WHAT IS KNOWN

Just attended the Ghost walk of true stories of Montreal. What a great way of connecting to one's superstitious & ghost stories that have happened since the our city began. Audiences from other parts of the World were intrigued by these true stories that are recorded in the archives. Truly it is remarkable how atrocities, racism and fear, drawn from ego back in the day, still exist today!! The storyteller/guide was phenomenal as she was using her Theatrical & acting skills in her believable interpretation and embodied characters 👏🏽. HAPPY HALLOWEEN 🎃

Our guide was excellent and well educated in the material she was providing! She made extra efforts to ensure the experience was accessible for a wheelchair user. On Halloween of all nights, she kept us safe and off of main roads while still providing the experience of old Montreal. Thank you Lily!

A nice way to spend an evening

The instructions on where to meet were very unclear. I suggest indicating on the ticket exactly where to meet, as we ended up in the wrong place initially but were able to find the right spot. We were split into two groups and ended up with a young woman referring to herself as Edith, claiming to be a ghost for over 200 years and fulminating about modern devices (mobile phones) and scary machines (automobiles) while she led us through parts of Ville-Marie (named for the Virgin Mary) and telling us stories of scandals and shocking deaths in Montréal., including in buildings still standing. Like many ghost tours I've taken, Edith mentioned how some people will see the ghosts or hear sounds of people who died before their time. I do love stories like this (and wish I could get more information so I can read up), so this is why I enjoyed the tour. Sadly, I haven't had many ghostly experiences, even though I live in a city chock full of alleged ghost stories and have visited other places also with ghost stories.

Entertaining overall

The acting was very entertaining as was the guide’s humor. Some of the stories interesting also. I did notice the actress did inject social messages as part of her story telling so I immediately knew we were dealing with a wokester. One of her historical critiques related to germ warfare against natives was factually inaccurate and misleading so took other stories with a grain of salt.

a great evening in old Montreal

Our tour guide Franklin was excellent! The ghost stories really grab you and it's a great way to see another side of old Montreal, one that most people don't get to see. My wife and I generally avoid group tours, but for this one I would make an exception and recommend it to anyone. Please remember to tip your tour guide at the end, though, I saw many people didn't remember to bring cash, and the tour guides definitely deserve it.

A spooky walk around Old Montréal

Madam Morphine was a fabulous tour guide. She was very punctual and took us on a path with minimal traffic so we didn’t have to worry about impacting traffic or crossing busy streets. Animated and great storyteller. Really appreciated the theatrics and her engagement with the participants. Very knowledgeable about the history of Old Montréal. We had a slight interruption with a local and she handled it like a pro. Would definitely recommend this night tour to others, especially with Madame Morphine!

The storyteller was in character the entire time. She was animated and engaging and gave an excellent picture of what Montreal was like in the early days and some of the horrors that transpired. She was detailed in her description of events and we were taken to the sites of the occurrences. I highly recommend.

Bad acting that was distracting

Uncomfortable and hard to follow. The acting was bad and distracted from the tour. I feel bad because our guide was nice but we just didn’t get much out of it.
