Good mix between food, culture and history

For us it was mixed food tour and mixed history & culture, which was actually great. We also visited Mazu temple and learned a bit about how it works. James was great, although he can be a bit pushy if you do not eat enough haha! Highly recommended.

Amazing Tour!

James was a great guide who was very passionate about the food and history of Penang! We tried a variety of local dishes, my favourite being the char kuey teow. It was really intrestrsting going to the Chinese temple as James explained the history, the gods and facts about the temple.

Best food tour ever

Poh was a wonderful ambassador for the Island. We experienced so many different foods and drinks, from food markets, a Muslim restaurant and a street market. Everything about the ingredients and cooking methods was fully explained by Poh. As there were 6 of us she checked with us how spicy we liked each food before ordering. We also visited a Chinese temple and street art for our culture hit. Such great fun. Thankyou Poh

Great balance between food, culture & history.

We had a fantastic time on our walking tour! Our guide, Beatrice, was very generous with her time & information. She packed heaps of stories into our tour! It was a great balance between food, culture & history. We learnt so much! Was also great to get tips on where else to go on the days after our tour. The best part was the care & patience Beatrice showed my mother on the tour - she had hurt her ankle that morning, & Beatrice gave her a great remedy (nutmeg oil!) & slowed the pace down so she felt no pressure. We would HIGHLY RECOMMEND this tour - its been an absolute highlight of our time in Malaysia. Thanks Beatrice!!

James Ling, our guide was the best. He went out of his way to ensure my daughter who has allergies avoided all foods she was allergic to. He even found her fries which are her favorite even though all the places we were going to did not have any fries. He gave us so much history about Penang and made us feel like locals. 10/10 would recommend 🙏🏾

Disappointing

The food tour was disappointing in comparison to others I have done in other cities. While some of the food was nice, overall a number of places we were taken to were really disappointing and lacked variety and taste. The price we paid was completely unreasonable. I expected so much more from a food haven such as Penang.

Our guide was great and the food was all amazing! If you are a STRICT vegetarian or vegan you’ll miss out on a few tastings, but I the other vegetarian and I picked around the meat in the curry and noodles and it was well worth it. The temple was a really good stop as well, and I learned a lot about the culture and traditions of Buddhism. The description isn’t lying though, you really won’t want to eat before this! Our tour started at 3:30 and I was STUFFED by the end of it.
