Duration: 1 hour 30 minutes

Operating Schedule: Beginning at the Bourse Building right across from Independence Hall and the Liberty Bell, plug into our multi-lingual headphone audio to discover the origins of America, since Philadelphia is where America’s Founding Fathers first declared independence from England, and then ratified the US Constitution and Bill of Rights to start the new nation. Along the way, enjoy stunning views of such historic landmarks including the Christ Church Burial Grounds, Elfreth’s Alley, the Betsy Ross House, and Independence Hall, to name just a few. As you head west, see the Friendship Gate in Chinatown, be amazed by the architecture of Philadelphia’s City Hall, and be sure to explore the various museums along Benjamin Franklin Parkway, including the Barnes Foundation – known as the world’s largest collection of post-impressionistic art in the world. As you continue your journey, marvel at Philadelphia’s growing skyline and get a bird’s-eye view from atop the One Liberty Observation Deck. Your loop finishes up after touring through the charming neighborhood of Society Hill and a drive along the banks of the Delaware River.

Great Tour
Sharon_S, Apr 2024
I do wish that the very knowledgeable tour guide would’ve spoken just a little bit slower, as he spoke a bit fast for me. I am an English-speaking person, but I was still having trouble following everything he said, Did he know his facts! I wouldn’t that seeing all the beautiful old architecture was wonderful, especially of course viewing the Liberty Bell was a highlight. I didn’t really have the time to go into any of the art museums. I will have to do that next time. It was fun seeing the “Rocky” stairs!!
Get in Ruth’s bus!!!
Wesley_K, Apr 2024
Ruth was absolutely amazing! So knowledgeable and funny! So much knowledge! She delivered it with perfection! She knew so much about each spot, she could answer questions and had me in awe! Evans your made me want to get off the bus!! Having taken Ruth 1.5 times then getting on the bus with Evan… Evan’s unsavory banter and jokes made him miss more than half the info Ruth gave. He was more interested in talking crap with people and bashing the city and its government than doing his job. I wish he would’ve covered the mic when it was windy cause that was just as annoying to hear as his jokes. The tour was amazing!! So many great spots!!! So much to see and so much history!! 10/10 recommend Ruth and her tour!
Great tour

One of the better hop on hop off tours I’ve experienced. Good guide information and it covered all the true highlights of the city plus some nice food recommendations.

We were on and off of the bus probably eight times, with every guide being different and periodic road detours we learned saw and learned new things every time. Thank you for the great experience!
Phila Experience
Tayonia_W, Apr 2024
Enjoyed the bus tour, however due to no fault of the company the bus had to make detours. As the driver navigates through the detour streets, there should be announcements to the passengers to watch out and beware of the long hanging tree branches that will come into contact with passengers head, face, eyes. If you are not paying attention this will cause a huge problem.
Great Experience

Blue was very knowledgeable and funny. Great tour through Philly! Definitely would recommend had a great time!
Excellent Experience
Jamie_B, Apr 2024
Drivers were so amazing, helpful, accommodating. My aunt was disabled and she made everyone move so she could lower the entrance to the bus so my aunt could get on with ease. She was so sweet and nice. It was cool and windy when we went but the upstairs was beautiful. In the sun it wasn't bad at all. Most of the time it was minimal wait time to get off and back on. Almost all the tour guides were good and entertaining. Great experience. And would do it again. We had age ranges from 3-60+, handicap, stroller, bags, and they made it so easy for us.
Microphone did not work reliably
Carol_L, Apr 2024
The route was nice (although there were detours that prevented us from seeing some of the sites that we thought we would see). The bus was clean and comfortable, the driver was safe. The microphone the tour guide was using kept shorting out and made it very difficult to hear and follow what she was saying.
Brenda- Amazing tour guide

How to do a two hour tour in 60 minutes or less
Dawn_K, Feb 2024
People organizing tour were terrific. Found out on arrival we had been switched to another company ( which we had avoided due to poor reviews). Instead of bus, we were on a trolley ( due to Super Bowl needing the buses) should have had seatbelts as it was the fastest tour ever- tour guide spoke so fast she tripped over a couple words, couldn’t see most of the sites as the trolley didn’t slow down ( kept pace with city traffic). 4 sites were off the tour do to construction. We heard more horn honking than in any other city. For a city that advertises brotherly love- it does not apply to driving. The driver however made it through some amazingly tight spots. Ended tour having learned that Kevin Bacon’s dad was once a city planner. And, we wasted our money.
Gave my family a nice experience
Venice_R, Nov 2023
Family enjoyed the informative tour. We stopped at the African American Musem and the reading terminal market. Definitely worth the money.
Depends on your guide
Jan_W, Nov 2023
One guide (older female) on part of our journey was very informative but funny. We learned lots from her and enjoyed the little tips she gave. The next one was not so great. Made jokes inappropriate for a family oriented tour…we couldn’t wait to be off with him. Didn’t complete the complete route due to his inappropriate remarks.
Had a great time site seeing and learning about Philadelphia
Talmon_H, Nov 2023
We loved our tour there's so many interesting sites and the knowledge of the tour guides was al. o amazing
It was okay
Linda_M, Oct 2023
It advertises that you can start and stop your tour anywhere. This is not true. You have to start at some designated locations. The tour was on detour as well so we did not get to 4 of the locations listed on the map. It would have been helpful to have an itinerary route listed on Viator.
Awesome
Joyce_G, Sep 2023
The narrators were knowledgeable and funny. I usually do the Big Bus tours while on vacation. Thanks again for another great trip.
MARVELOUS
Dennis_J, Sep 2023
Philadelphia was a lot prettier and historic than I thought. The host was fabulous and I learned Rocky didn't run up all the 72 stairs
