Our tour guide, George, was fantastic. He was very knowledgeable about Pittsburgh's history. He made the tour fun and memorable. I highly recommend taking the 2 hour tour as there is so much to see.

George (the tour guide) was magnificent! Lesley and I loved the tour, and we had a smile on our face the whole time! George is warm, funny, knowledgeable, and has amazing charm and comedic timing with his delivery. We were never bored, were always fascinated. We learned many things we didn’t know (“That’s why you take the tour!”) and wished it could have been a longer tour! Thank you for the amazing memories, George! Keep up the great work! And now we definitely know that “Pittsburgh is one of the coolest cities in America!”

Highly recommend this tour! Not only was it nice that it was private but George was an enthusiastic tour guide with a wealth of knowledge! He also added a humorous aspect to it as well as an interactive one and gave us great photo opportunities. It does mention that the incline admission wasn't included but I somehow overlooked that so be sure to bring cash for that! Definitely would do again whenever we have someone come to visit.

It was a very good tour George is very passionate about Pittsburgh (as anyone should be about their hometown). I can bet someone from Pittsburgh could go on this tour and learn something they don't know about their own city. If your a history buff this is for you 100%. Pittsburgh is a historic city in many ways that meets the eye.

Very engaging, but guide needs support from Viator

We loved George, and he gave us a lot of information. However, his car was far too small for four people, was totally unkept and dirty, and his visual aids, though appropriate and interesting, were disheveled and dirty and needed to be updated. We parked in a horrible no-parking area near the Duquesne Incline and walked through a area that was dangerous for safely walking. This was our first exposure to Pittsburgh and it was not the professionalism we expected. However, George’s stories were fun and interesting and he sold us verbally on the charms of the city. Please get him a decent car and new visual aids.

Beware of cancellation

The tour was cancelled after our arrival. We drove to the lot where we were supposed to meet and called their number as no one was there. George answered the phone and told me he didn't have time for our tour that day and he had no one else. He told us to meet him across the street as he was working the Duquesne Incline. We went over and he proceeded to tell me that he tried calling me on Thursday, which he didn't as I made the reservation Thursday evening and I had no missed calls or messages from him. Our tour was booked for Saturday. He told me to call for a refund which I did while there. The gal from viator happened to call him to confirm and George lied to her saying we couldn't agree on a time. He was not apologetic and was actually quite rude.

George was an excellent outstanding tour guide with an amazing amount of knowledge of the Steel City. He tailored our tour to accommodate 6 different people and made each of us feel special by engaging us with questions and making up appropriate nicknames for us to help him remember what we were interested in learning. We’ve been on a lot of tours and this one was, by far, the most informative and engaging. Thank you George.
