Juan wasn't as experienced a guide as some but he was very friendly and we enjoyed the hike. We did spot a quetzal and a toucan, so it was worth it for sure.

A beautiful morning with birds!

Amazing your through the forest with Olman. Saw so many wonderful birds and got to learn so about the first and the eco-tourism industry in Costa Rica that is working to protect it's precious habitats. Never went bird watching before but this was so much fun and we appreciated that Olman didn't like crowds so to us on paths visited by few people which meant that we got amazing shots of birds. Highly recommend!
Awesome tour with Dennis!

Dennis was an expert guide and very friendly! He was able to find birds and wildlife that were difficult to see and other guides followed his lead. He was an amazing guide!
Knowledgeable and enthusiastic guide.

Wonderful experience! Our guide Jean was extremely knowledgeable and his enthusiasm was positively infectious. We spent more than 2.5 hours and he was very responsive to our questions and wishes, it was a treat to have such expert guidance. The absolute highlight was spotting two male quetzals competing for the attention of a female, with lots of aerial acrobatics. But we also spotted a tarantula, stick bug, nesting hummingbirds, and plenty of songbirds. Jean’s lens captured it all, making it possible to also capture on our phones. The highlight of our trip!
Excellent Guide

Dennis was an excellent guide. He was fun, knowledgeable, and brought the wilderness to life for our children. We saw much more with him than we would have on our own.
Monteverde Cloud Forest

We had a great experience at the cloud forest thanks to a fantastic guided tour. Without Dennis we wouldn’t be able to find the Quetzal in the big cloud forest I think!

Do you want to go on a birdwatching tour with a guide that is open and ready to show you all the wonders of Monteverde’s Cloud Forest starting from two toed sloths to the resplendent quetzal?Monteverde’s birdwatching guide, Dennis Fernandez is a professional birder, knowledgeable of birds in Costa Rica, USA, and Canada. Dennis is enthusiastic, thoughtful, and always looking out for other members of the tour while keeping an eye on uncommon birds hidden in nearly plain sight of the dense green. If you are looking for a guide that can make birdwatching fun and memorable, Dennis is the right guy for the job.
Sloths and birds

Two toed sloth, mother and baby, collared trogon and other beautiful birds, cool temperatures refreshing after several days in the tropical rainforest
Cloud Forest King!

Dennis is fantastic! Super knowledgeable, a nice person and fun to chat with! It was a little rainy so we didn’t see as much wildlife as we would have liked, but he was able to keep us engaged and interested in everything we were able to see. We saw a spider monkey right at the end of our tour and he was just as excited as we were! He even helped us with reservations for another tour and provided us with restaurant reservations. Highly recommend!

Despite your publicity which says that entrance is included, we were asked to pay entrance fee. Our guide Denis was absolutely a fabulous guy, but reality is that paying 340 dollars to see 4 types of birds is not really worthwile. I had already been to this forest before without a guide and seen more wildlife
