Overview

Iceland’s south coast boasts some of the country’s most beautiful and unique landscapes. Join a small group and venture south to see several waterfalls, black sand beaches, and the fishing village of Vik. The highlight of this tour, however, is a hike across the Solheimajokull Glacier which serves unparalleled views of Iceland’s landscapes.

Pick up takes place between 8:00 and 8:30, so please be ready at your pick-up location at 8:00 Due to traffic restrictions in downtown Reykjavik, direct pick up from some hotels may not be possible. We will confirm your pick up location by email before the tour. Pick up outside Reykjavik may not be possible, please contact us if you are staying outside of Reykjavik.

The Glacier Hike is a must do.

The Glacier hike was the highlight of this trip. Easy walk, slow and steady climb and the driver/guide Thomas (British) is a professional ice climber. Great experience hiking the Glacier. Its a must do if you are in Icleand . Thomas is very accommodating and friendly.

My husband & I had done a similar tour back in May 2013; this time we had our 9 yr old son along, and wanted him to experience the glacier first-hand. What a grand day it was! Michal made it extra-special. He has a great knack (skilled talent) for engaging folks in Icelandic history and culture, while driving! He told us his personal story about moving to Iceland 10 yrs ago from his native Czech Republic, and it's obvious that he deeply loves his adopted land. His patience with all of us never wore thin (and his willingness to answer all of my questions) for the whole long day, and his optimism and sense of humor, love of nature and all things Icelandic, was contagious. Thank you, Michal!

While the South Coast Adventure was fantastic it was a long day. We saw two beautiful waterfalls, opting to walk up the 400+ steps where the view was terrific and we were gifted with a rainbow over the waterfall as well as a visit to the Black Sand Beach. The highlight of the day was a two hour glacier trek. We were outfitted with a helmet (Helpful in the ice cave), crampons (essential for walking on ice), harness (safety in case of an issue) and the axe (mostly for balance). The trek was beautiful and I totally recommend. Our guide Hendrick had many stories to tell and made the day fun and entertainment. Certainly a highlight of our visit to Iceland.

Beautiful tour of the country, my favourite experience of my stay. Be prepared to get very wet if you want to get up close to the majestic waterfalls. Don’t be scared of the glacier hike, it is very steady so accessible for hikers of any ability range. Our guide, michel, was very knowledgable and supportive of our entire group. His passion was infectious.

We had an AMAZING time on this trip! Our guide Hersteinn (Steini) was SO knowledgeable and incredibly kind. He answered all of our questions and knew so much information. He was our favorite person we met in all of Iceland ha!! We stopped at so many amazing places, and the glacier hike was truly the highlight of our trip/year/life? I would highly recommend booking this tour and definitely doing the glacier hike. It's so nice that this is a small tour group because you get to meet and interact with the others on the trip, and they were all very nice as well.

This was such a nice way to end my trip! Michal was an excellent guide. He was super helpful and also worked to get the glacier to ourselves by taking us over lunch time. It was awesome to be up there all alone without other groups! It was beautiful. There are plenty of photo opportunities, and I never felt rushed which was nice. The other stops are nice, but the glacier is the highlight. You get plenty of time to explore and grab snacks throughout the day.
