Additional Info

  • Confirmation will be received at time of booking
  • Not wheelchair accessible
  • The itinerary is not wheelchair accessible unless the person in the chair can stand up, climb and descend a few stairs.
  • The tour itinerary is 2.3 km long on hard marble. Hence wear comfortable sneakers or shoes with orthopedic inner soles.
  • Stroller accessible
  • Please bring a bottle of water per person.
  • If it is raining carry umbrellas that are compact and can be folded and not ones that have sharp pokey end. The long one give by your hotels will have to be checked into the cloakroom of the museum and involves a 1 km walk to get it back again.
  • Near public transportation
  • Carry medium size back packs as large ones will be checked into the cloak room and involves a long walk to get them back.
  • The following items along with the bags will have to be checked into the cloak room: glass bottles of any kind, swiss knives, wine openers, large tripods and large bags.
  • Photography is permitted in most rooms but without flash. It is prohibited to photograph inside the Sistine Chapel.
  • The tour ends in front on the Basilica. You can spend more time inside the Basilica but you cannot go back to the Sistine Chapel nor the Museum.
  • You can also chose to climb the dome on your own, for a separate fee.
  • On Wednesdays the Basilica is closed until noon due to the Papal Audience.
  • No heart problems or other serious medical conditions
  • On extraordinary cases the Basilica can be closed without notice. This is out of our hands, but will give you an extended tour of the museum and description of the Basilica. Refund will not be offered due to the closure of the church.
  • A dress code is required to enter places of worship and selected museums. No shorts or sleeveless tops allowed. Knees and shoulders MUST be covered for both men and women. You may risk refused entry if you fail to comply with these dress requirements
  • Travelers should have a moderate physical fitness level
  • A minimum of 2 people per booking is required
  • Bring Umbrellas that can fold and are not long have a pokey end
  • Not recommended for clients who cannot climb and decent stairs
  • This tour/activity will have a maximum of 15 travelers

Cancellation Policy

You can cancel up to 24 hours in advance of the experience for a full refund.

  • For a full refund, you must cancel at least 24 hours before the experience’s start time.
  • If you cancel less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time, the amount you paid will not be refunded.
  • Any changes made less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time will not be accepted.
  • Cut-off times are based on the experience’s local time.

Very nice tour, well paced, good selection of art to focus on, and interesting stories. Would definitely go back with Rahul and Europe odyssey. Walked away feeling I learned a lot about art, history, and religion even starting with some background in each. Skipping the lines was critical
Thieves everywhere from Taxi drivers to beggars.

Rome is full of thieves and scammers. Took a taxi back to hotel from the Vatican, driver said going back cost EU 38 (interesting that when we booked Uber taxi going to Vatican the ride cost only EU 17. My wife clearly gave the driver EU 50 but the driver turned back and showed us a EU 10 bill insisting that we are still short, etc. Long story short we just left taxi in disgust. We read later other reviewers also telling the same experience. Also the other day, my wife’s iPhone was stolen by an elderly woman in shawl (despite the heat!) who kept on approaching us begging for money near the Pantheon . Then she turned away and we discovered the phone missing. SO BEWARE. Otherwise our tour went very well and tour guide Rahul is really excellent.

Great experience, the jump the queue was worth it alone! Our guide gave logs of stories about the Vatican and the Church. I do wish we could have spent more time in the Sistine Chapel however. Overall, great experience and definitely worth it!

We lucked out just having 6 in our small group! Rahul was excellent and very knowledgeable. He kept a great pace and shared many details. We were lucky to be there the morning of Christmas Eve, so that made the tour even more special with the preparations for Christmas.
