Good General Overview Tour, but We Expected More Depth

While we appreciated having a local guide for a 3-hr walking tour of Rotterdam, we were expecting more historical knowledge, more stories to bring significance to the sites we were seeing, and more knowledge of the architecture from our guide. Our guide was kind and accommodating, especially when our morning train was late, but did not come prepared with an agenda or tour route, nor did they remind us of all that was 'included' in our booking (lunch, snacks, admission to the Cube House and Laurence Church).

Wonderful walking tour of Rotterdam

A wonderful walking tour of Rotterdam. Abdullah was very knowledgeable about the history and culture, conveying it in a conversational style. Loved that it was all inclusive- transportation and entrance tickets and food included. Accomodated our mobility challenges, walking slowly and finding places to sit and rest. Highly recommended!!!!

What a great day! All over the city center for a wealth of information from a local. Even with rain and hail he was happy to push on if I was even though my travel friend was out sick for the day. A little over 5 miles(that in no way felt as such) seeing all the best spots-tourist and non! Even got a water-taxi ending back to hotel! Elmar was knowledgeable, courteous, spoke great English and the walking Not at such a pace like some groups that give “tourist whiplash” and all one can do is keep up without actually enjoying anything. A most enjoyable tour and the best of the 5 so far this trip!!

Abdullah was very personable and took into consideration our interests during the tour of the central city. Our tour was during the Marathon and he did a good job of getting us to the sites despite the blockades. He had options for the different foods to taste and all were wonderful. We were very satisfied with the whole experience.

Our tour guide Elmar- a young fellow came on time. Gave us a brief of what is expected & included. It was mainly walking tour in central part of Rotterdam. His knowledge of history is very good. He answered all queries. We saw all important land marks like cube houses, church, Markthal & many more things. Thoroughly enjoyed the trip in his company.

Great one day tour of Rotterdam with Kees

Our guide Kees was fantastic! He was extremely knowledgeable about Rotterdam and even though we were only able to walk slowly, he covered so much ground and gave us a great tour of the city! He was personable and spoke perfect English. He introduced us to Rotterdam and The Netherlands culture and language and some delicious foods and drinks. If we go back to Rotterdam we will definitely request Kees as our guide.

Abdullah was a wonderful guide. Had a super knowledge of the history of his city and made sure we saw the highlights and tasted it's local dishes. He and his sister even made a date and nut type of cake for us. It was delicious! I was a bit leary of taking public transportation, but Abdullah took care of us and made it easy. Rotterdam has a very good transit system and it was a great way to see the city. (USA should take lessons!) I learned alot about Rotterdam, it's history, it's architecture, and what the city wants it's future to look like. Highly recommend!

Abdullah from Tour Guys, Viator tour provided us with a great experience. He was extremely knowledgeable and answered all of our many questions. The day was packed full of sites to see, with history and facts, learned. We very much appreciated learning about these he architecture of the city. We also got to try herring, stropwaffle, fried cod, local coffee, and a cheese pastry which were all amazing. I was surprised at how much I loved the herring. It was scrumptious. Excellent job. Kudos on a great tour.

We had a tour with Izzy who was super passionate about showing us his home town of Rotterdam including the sites and food. He had some great stories to share and kept the walking tour interesting. The weather was really bad on our particular day, but that didn't dampen our spirits! Izzy made it a great experience.

Seeking a private tour of Rotterdam? Highly recommend "The Tour Guys" Private half day tour of Rotterdam and Delft with pick up at cruise terminal and drop off at hotel in Amsterdam. Our tour began in Rotterdam, our guide Izzy was friendly and knowledgeable, sharing his passion for this vibrant city. We explored, the artist community, enjoyed lunch at the indoor market in town square, with a tour of city hall along with the monuments and buildings that survived WWII. Our final stop was a tour of delft which was enjoyable and interesting. Would highly recommend the Tour Guys as they tailor each trip to your needs and interests. Thank you so much Izzy!
