Great experience of local Salalah

Very good tour around the Salalah area. Our guide Ibrahim was very knowledgeable, took us to some of the main sites and gave us plenty of time to wander and take pictures. We got to sample some of the local tea and fruits available at roadside vendors which was a really nice touch.

The most memorable part of our tour was the Wadi Darbat waterfalls and the view of the Beach. We had a private tour with our guide, Abo Salim. He spoke English well and answered all our questions. He was very friendly and professional, making sure we were satisfied. He knew the best places for good photos and avoided the big tour buses, which we appreciated. Great job.

Ali our guide met us early and provided water and a good commentary about the area. He was ex- Omani special forces and knew a lot about the insurgency war in Dhofar in the 1970s, which we found fascinating. A great trip to an old Omani house, now used as an Hotel. Then on to wadi Darbat and on op to the jebel mountains. He took us to an escarpment which at 1700m gave us a Stunning view over the coastal area. The scenery on the jebel reminded me of the UK Lake District or New Zealand, with rolling green hills. Lovely tour all round- great trip

Ahmed our driver and tour guide met us close to the gangway. His spoken English was very good and was very easy to converse with! He took us on an excellent tour viewing waterfalls at Wadi Darbat, many camels grazing in fields and also eating water growing vegetation!Nice to view them in their natural habitat! We visited Sumhuran , the reminants of an Ancient city which was very interesting to read about and to walk amongst the ruins! He took us to a high point , accessible with his 4x4 , for a very nice view point of the valley below! Then a visit of the Taqah Castle to see the home of Walli, a King of the past! To finish , we went shopping in a local Souk! A 4 hour tour ended up to be around 6 hours! Ahmed related the history and customs of the areas we visited and made it very interesting! He also gave us some nice information about his family as well! Thanks to Ahmed , we had a very nice visit to Salalah!

With this tour you will have the chance to experience the continuation of nature between sea-desert and mountainous forest vegetation. with natural water pools a beautiful waterfall ,the river on the mountain and the mesmerizing grey-green colored waves of the arabic sea near the historical sites ! also ahmed the guide will not stress you out and will give you the time you need!

A totally worthy experience, with an excellent Toyota Land Cruiser, and a well versed driver: Hafiz al-Mahri. He was very friendly and knew the area like the palm of his hand. Darbat Al Wadi and Jabal Samhan were the hight points of the trip.
