    This experience was very informative. It was fun tasting chocolate at different stages as well as making our own chocolate bars. We made four chocolate bars (2 for me and 2 for my husband). There was a variety of toppings. We also toasted the end of the experience with a traditional Costa Rican chocolate drink. My only feedback is to have a clear sign outside labeling the address. When we arrived it just looked like a regular house until Mauricio came outside signaled for us to come in.

    This was an excellent tour with delicious chocolate. I highly recommend it! The entrance is a little hard to find since there is no sign.

    We had a wonderful time with Lucia learning about and making chocolate. This was a wonderful experience for the 4 of us. We would definitely recommend for anyone to do!!

    It was a great experience to start at the beginning of the chocolate process by sampling the cacao and being able to create our own dark chocolate bars. Would recommend for those who are chocolate fans and want to leave with a custom creation.

    Mauricio and Lucia are deeply knowledgeable and passionate, and have a wonderful way of inviting people into the amazing history of chocolate and cacao. We went with our 10 and 13 year olds, learned a ton and all had an absolute blast making our own chocolate bars - AND they are delicious. Everything about this experience is so well done. Highly highly recommend. (The location looks like a residential neighborhood, but the yellow gate is easy to spot - Mauricio was also outside welcoming us even before we were out of the cab). Go to this - you’ll be so glad you did!

    The place to find through Google map was difficult because no sign outside! Was very informative and interesting! I highly recommend to take is experience for chocolate lovers!

    This was such a fun experience. The instructor was extremely knowledgeable about the history of cocoa and answer questions very well. The chocolate was delicious and watching it be made was so much fun. Highly recommend this.

    I highly recommend this tour for anyone that is going to San Jose for a few days. It gives you the history of chocolate in Costa Rica. It tells you the truth about why the chocolate in Europe is so good. It is because all the chocolate is exported from Costa Rica to the European countries famous for chocolate. The best part of the tour is that the class is taught by one of Costa Rica’s highly sought after chocolatier. She gives information about the whole process of chocolate making from cocoa beans to the wonderful sweet chocolate that we all love. Finally everyone gets to make 2 of their very own chocolate bars. What can be better than that??

    We had a great time making our chocolate bars and learning all about how they are made. Well worth the 2-hours! The hosts were very welcoming, knowledgeable and gracious. Conveniently located in Barrio Escalante. I would bring people back to this.

    I thoroughly enjoyed making and learning so much about chocolate in the San Jose chocolate factory. Lucia, who conducted the chocolate making and tasting session was fantastic. It was both informative and fun. It was a high point of my stay in San Jose.
