The Basics

Sarapiqui is a large area covering several reserves and national parks, including Braulio Carrillo National Park and the Sarapiqui Protected Zone, in the province of Heredia, where Costa Rica meets Nicaraguan at the border. It’s a popular place for adventure tours, including white-water rafting and ziplining, with most excursions departing from the town of Puerto Viejo de Sarapiqui or San Jose, Costa Rica’s capital.

Amazing tour. This is a well run operation. You’ll have a lot of fun. Even the ride to the river was entertaining. Juan our guide in the bus provided lots of good info and instruction to prepare for our trip. This is a must do when in CR. The river is beautiful and the surroundings are unreal. Once your trip is done, you’ll get a towel, water, and fruit. Let me tell you. Fruit taste better on the bottom of a raft after a 2 trip through the rapids.
