The half day city tour is a must when first arriving in Sandakan. It gives you a great overall view of the city and its highlights, plus helps you get your bearings on the layout of the town. Our guide Siti and driver Ahmad were brilliant. Both speak English very well and were friendly, knowledgeable and entertaining. We had some great conversations but what I liked best was they didn't rush us at any of the stops, allowing us to stay longer at some places if we wanted to. That's the beauty of a private tour, the itinerary is more flexible. By way of example, we visited the Sandakan Memorial Park the morning before ANZAC Day. To Australians, that's a very important national day of remembrance. Sandakan was the site of a POW camp during WW2 and there was a Dawn Service rehearsal at the time we visited the park, so Siti was very obliging and allowed us to stay for that. Given ANZAC Day was our primary purpose for visiting Sandakan, this tour and our visit to the Memorial Park was perfect timing and a major highlight of our trip. Worth every cent.

Great tour our guide (Sita) was a really lovely lady who has such a lovely way about her. She was very knowledgeable about everything in Malaysia and Sandakan and made the tour great fun. Our driver (sorry can remember his name) was also excellent great tour and great way to get to know Sandakan
Private tour Joke

Was picked up in a taxi ,driver with very poor English. Was suppose to be a private tour with guide. We were dropped at the locations and give a mobile phone to call driver when we were finished , so that he could go and get his hair cut. Only went to 3 different sites. Wasn't worth the money
