Pilgrims' Mass & views of the Cathedral from Alameda Park were highlights +tour of Cathedral & Hotel Rua Vilar was lovely & 2 mins.stroll to Cathedral. As an Aussie,wish the age & origins of ancient Eucalypts in park were noted. A1 visit tho only for 2 nights.

This was an absolutely fantastic tour; our guide Maria (apologies if I misremembered) was incredibly knowledgeable with perfect English. She gave a balanced account of the history of Saint James, the cathedral and the city, within the context of Christianity, Spanish politics and the wider world, showing also a wry humour that enlivened the tour. We learnt so much in a short space of time; I’ve visited the cathedral and museum on my own before but hadn’t appreciated the stories behind the artefacts and the building. Would wholeheartedly recommend the English tour (10am). Do get to Obradoiro square a few minutes early and look for the orange umbrella as tours start very punctually. Ours lasted approx 2h and was worth every penny. We were extremely lucky in that we had in essence a private tour - just 3 of us, which made it even more special.

Misrepresented tour

The tour was advertised as 2 hours long starting at 10am. We had to leave to the airport at 12:15. The tour was actually one hour long, one hour break and then and then another hour long. So ending past 1pm. We had to miss the cathedral with portico. The company refused to refund us anything.

Good morning Vadim, the tour you booked was the option of Historical Centre + Cathedral and Museum (without the Portico de la Gloria - first of all). On our website and on Viator (I have just checked) it is specified that in this option between the first tour - walking tour (which lasts 1h 10 min) and the second tour - cathedral and museum (which lasts 1h 30min) there is a break of 45 minutes - which is usually in the food market for people to enjoy it. I am very sorry that at the time of purchase you did not have enough time to read the product description carefully. On the other hand, please remember that Viator/Tripadvisor has many sales channels (I mean more websites and platforms on which it sells the same products) for which we are not responsible. If the information on those channels is not up to date it is not my responsibility. The refund was also denied because the tour you had purchased involved a ticket cost (museum tickets) that the company had already paid for. Best regards

Execellent historical tour

Her knowledge of history excellent. I don’t down grade on this, but my husband is hearing impaired so she was difficult to understand and her accent was very heavy for him, so he didn’t get as much out of the tour as I did. Overall I really liked the tour! My husband said he will be excited if the microphones from the guide come with blue tooth so they could go directly to hearing aids.

Would definitely recommend this tour!

History of St James was explained briefly and concisely by our tour guide, Maria. She was very pleasant, waited for everyone in the tour and explained all the important aspects of the cathedral She took questions and answered them very well. Highly recommend this tour.
