    Real History
    Debrica_W, May 2024
My Husband and I really enjoyed hearing real history. Sistah Patt is a true story teller. She exudes wisdom and she has such a beautiful spirit. The tour was both enlightening and heartbreaking. It was just awesome to see a tribe's mark left so many centuries later. I honestly do not have the words to describe the tour fully. Let me just say that It is something everyone should experience.

This tour was EXCEPTIONAL. I tried to get in last year when we were in Savannah but it was sold out, and I see why! The truth is told about American slavery, passed down from family, the direct descendants of the Gullah Geechee tribe. Told perfectly from a storyteller's perspective, with an educational format, in a captivating and eye opening wealth of information that is appropriate for most audiences. Sista Pat and Sista Roz tell the ugly truth of the history of slavery from its beginning. They walk you through the areas where slaves came in and were held, the wall where whipping happened, and the auction block which saw indescribable injustices to human beings. Also, the still current struggle with the city of Savannah to get recognition of the truth, and honor for those who endured this horrific part of history. The tour is not intended to further divide races, but to educate and promote healing among Americans which it so eloquently accomplishes. I can't recommend it enough to every person who has the opportunity to take it. No history lesson ever taught in schools would touch the sincerity and accuracy of this educational tour. May God bless and protect Sista Pat and Sista Roz and their work.

Too much to sum up in a review, must do for bucket list

This tour is a must do for ALL Savannah visitors and should really be something that is required learning for Savannah schools. Sistah Pat and Sistah Ros take you on a journey of violence, struggle, heartache, survival and most importantly FREEDOM! Towards the end of the tour there's a short performance by Sistah Ros that's indescribable and something we will never forget. The information given on the tour is difficult to take in at times but also life changing! This is the type of tour that you have to experience at least one time in your life.

The History that is Wiped from our Textbooks
    Olivia_M, Apr 2024
This experience left a mark on our hearts and minds. So powerful, so jaw-dropping. Miss. Roz shared the hidden, glossed-over history of Savannah - the true history! This grass roots effort takes the form of a guided walking tour, taking you to different points around the city. Where the stories, the memories, and the history of the enslaved people forced to Savannah is finally brought to the forefront. The spot that jarred us the most are the cobblestones that vehicles drive over, and tourists walk over on their way down to the river front bars. These cobblestones were the ballast stones on the slave ships coming to and from Savannah to keep the ships balances as enslaved people died on the brutal journey. The city doesn't do anything to acknowledge this. This tour will leave you changed. If you do ANYTHING in Savannah, it should be this. Miss. Roz was passionate, warm, and made us feel instantly welcomed. She is an incredible woman and we feel honored to have met her and learned from her. Best of all was the most genuine hug I've ever received that she gave us as we said our goodbyes.

    Enlightening.
    Michele_W, Apr 2024
The guides were by far the most knowledgeable and experienced that I have ever encountered. The topic of slavery, especially in this political/social climate, is not an easy one to discuss but they did it with truth, honesty and a quiet passion that made everyone comfortable and hungry for more information.

Absolutely + Powerfully Amazing!! Be clear, This tour gives the Truth Perspective on slavery, trauma, and black life in Savannah from the city’s founding to the early twentieth century, and it deepens your understanding of the economic, social, and political fabric of the South. Sister Ros our Griot on this journey was so real, honest, and full of amazing historical information that moments in the tour we were all quiet and even in tears! If I could give this 100 million stars, I would! Worth every penny…and every minute. Don’t look any further, book this now! You will never be the same, and better for it!

    Savannah Slave History Tour
    Louisa_L, Apr 2024
The Sisters were absolutely beautiful souls and shared the history of the Savannah slave trade in a most eloquent and truthful manner. We all could not understand why the city of Savannah has not honored this great aspect of its history by preserving the burden stones and grave markers and holding areas (I am so sure there is more and more) in a respectful way. Any city has an obligation to preserve its own history as is done (sometimes unwillingly) in England where I have lived for many decades. The true history upon this Earth is incumbent upon us all to maintain for the future generations to come. An invaluable experience. Thank you for having us.

    Anita_P, Apr 2024
Hearing about Slavery from the Truth tellers, was a rich enlightening experience. Different from other tour sources, this tour shows how Savannah was built on the blood sweat and tears of people who were stolen treated inhumanely. Many gave their lives lost their children but never their dignity. These stories,of the suffering AND difficult works need to be heard, told and acknowledged.

    A unique experience in Savannah
    Lawrence_S, Apr 2024
Starting at the river and winding up at the square where auctions took place showed us what took place in such a small area. The horror of what took place and the effects of which we all, as a country, are still experiencing.

the most incredible vacation tour my family has ever been part of
    Robyn_O, Mar 2024
Absolutely incredible. Sister Pat is an activist, advocate, and lobbyist. She masterfully created a tour to educate and empower tourists and locals about, as my dad said, the history of slavery in Savannah that is "hidden in plain sight." My mom described the tour as "a form of protest" in and of itself. She was skillful, creative, captivating, and inspiring all at the same time. I would urge any traveler to Savannah to participate in the tour before you leave this city. Sister Pat has so much wisdom, knowledge, and legacy to share with us. She is kind, warm, and welcoming - and she takes you on a journey. Cannot recommend this tour enough. Thank you for an incredible experience!! My family and I will be talking about this experience for a long time.

A must see! Savannah GA in full view.
    John_D, Mar 2024
Mrs Pat gave a different view of the city. It was like for a moment she was able to take us back and provide vivid pictures of the voyage from the slave ship to the trading block. I am so glad she is advocating for the city to acknowledge this history instead of moving past it. I will come back with my children and hopefully we will get Mrs Pat again.

    Amazing
    Lynne_G, Mar 2024
Sister Pat is a wealth of information about Savannah's history of the slave trade. It was fascinating to learn about , and to learn how reluctant that city has been to openly acknowledge it and allow it to be a part of the city's history. The enactment by Sister Pat's colleague of a slave woman whose children are about to be sold away from her was incredibly moving and so powerful.
