What To Expect

Savannah’s Historic District is one of the largest National Historic Landmark Districts in the US. Discover its highlights on a leisurely walking tour, with a professional local guide to provide richer insights into the city and its many historic buildings.

Choose from a morning or afternoon tour and meet at Oglethorpe Square to start the tour. Follow your guide down cobblestone alleyways and the many historic buildings and homes in the historic city center.

Over the course of the walking tour, you’ll pass by highlights such as Forsyth Park, River Street, and the building that housed the original Girl Scout Headquarters, with numerous stops for photos and questions.

All of the relevant history of the area and buildings that Dee shared with us. He was very detailed in his accounting of what happened in the buildings, who saved them from potential demolition and the materials the buildings were made from. He also educated us on how influential James Oglethorpe was to the area. After his description it made us realize that the world currently needs more people like James Oglethorpe who just want people to live in harmony.

It was my first visit to Savannah, and I always take a day tour of a new city. Champ was knowledgeable about the history of downtown, stopping and pointing out the significant sites and being personable and insightfully responsive to questions. The group size wasn't too big, and everyone involved enjoyed the journey together since it was a beautiful afternoon led by Champ's careful and safe direction.

I absolutely love history and walking tours. This tour was great. We saw some incredible sites and heard the history behind it but did not spend too long at each site. Our guide also factored in a potty break which was greatly needed. He also carried water in case someone needed it. Very knowledgable and interesting. Would highly recommend.
