Overview
Spend some time exploring the Sonoran Desert with a guide. Learn about the plants and animals of the Phoenix area while you hike through the rocky landscape in the desert. The hikes are designed to suit a variety of fitness levels and abilities and are customized to accommodate the needs of each group.
- Most hikes will be on a trail in the McDowell Sonoran Preserve
- Different hikes/trails/meeting spots can be arranged as needed
- Early morning departures keep you out of the afternoon heat
- Learn about the geology, history and wildlife of the desert

- Bottled water

- Professional safety-certified guide (1:8 guide to guest ratio)
- Clothing – Comfortable, weather appropriate athletic clothing – shorts and a t-shirt, long sleeves are recommended on cooler mornings.
- Shoes – Close-toed athletic shoes (sneakers)
- Sunglasses, sunscreen, camera, lip balm, medications, hat, etc.

Our small family (teen to adult) enjoyed a great hike with Ed. He correctly determined which trail would be a little challenging but also within reach given our varying fitness levels. He clearly loves sharing the desert with others, and had a lot of knowledge about the area and the flora and fauna. He also knew the where to take great pictures. Having Ed as our guide made this a stress-free experience!
