Do it!!

Such a great experience from start to finish! Jaleel and Ellie are altogether professionals! We were picked up at our hotel and off to our start point, had our delicious pastry, provided. Started our ascent, hiked the volcano in about 2:20 before descending. Along the way we learned lots about the plants, trees and history of the volcano and St Kitts. The hike was strenuous but fun! Jaleel had our safety at the forefront of his thoughts, making sure everyone was safe and happy. I would definitely recommend, a beautiful hike and worth the effort!
Rainforest hike

My husband, two daughters (ages 15 and 16) and I did this tour. We all enjoyed it. It includes the Caribelle Batik, the grounds of the oldest sugar plantation and the rainforest hike. Our guide, Zidan, was really knowledgeable, engaging, and informative. The hike was mostly all-levels, but it did get a little tougher terrain towards the end before we headed back, but this seems to be adjusted depending on what kind of difficulty-level the hikers are/want. If you are looking for something to do in St. Kitt’s, would recommend!

An unexpected gem of a shore excursion! Our guide Akeem was fantastic and our group was only half full and made it such a better experience.
What a Hike
Kenneth_P, Mar 2024
There seem to be two very different types of rainforest hiking tours that you may be on when you book this. A lot of the reviews we read described this tour as exploring trees by the zip-line area near the old rum distillery with a focus on plant uses and maybe some animals and the hike wasn't too strenuous. Then there's the hike we somehow were booked on. 4 hours+ round-trip of quite strenuous hiking up 3,000 feet to the edge of the dormant volcanic crater. It was an amazing view at the top, but we weren't expecting that and at several points we weren't sure we could make it all the way up. It's not at all clear how they decide whether to give you the relatively easy hike or the very difficult hike. So better ask. We are glad we did it, and the 5 stars is because it was an experience we won't soon forget. But there ought to be two different tours if one is relatively easy and one is hard. The Mount Liamuiga hike we ended up on is described online as "a strenuous hike through rainforest and jungle over limbs and rocks; totally doable for those who are fit, adventuresome and limber." Again, just be sure to ask which hike you're on to be sure you're prepared.
Interesting Tour and History

Interesting tour. Ran into a school group on a tour, and they wanted a picture with us! Lots of history at the Estate.
Smaller local operator much better choice than the overpriced cruise deals.
Chris_C, Feb 2024
I scheduled this outside of the much more expensive on ship excursion. The tour operators were quickly responsive to chat communication. Just be aware that you will meet the operator outside of the immediate area of the on cruise excursions. No big deal, just make sure you have the operator name. Once we met up we had a much smaller group than the crowded ship offerings. Big plus. The driver/guide was friendly, knowledgeable and spoke clearly. The rainforest hike was a little strenuous. Sneakers or hiking shoes. No flip flops.
Awesome experience

Very knowledgeable guide- nature, plants, history in a fun vibe. The homemade banana bread and passion fruit juice topped it off!

Zidan was a great driver and rainforest tour guide. Very knowledgeable about the environment. We were "lucky" to have seen so many monkeys. We also saw a big snail on the trail which was awesome!
Great rainforest tour
Raychel_G, Mar 2023
We really enjoyed the small group size and the friendliness of our guide. We were able to interact with him individually and he answered all of our questions with enthusiasm. The information about the plants was quite interesting and seeing monkeys in the trees was the highlight! Also, signage was clear and transportation easy and quick. Would recommend if you want something different than a beach day in St. Kitts that's not too strenuous.
Priceless experience

Rain Forest Hike

Our guide was so knowledgeable in the Medicinal Purposes of all the plants. He was very patient with us during the hike and we went at our own pace. The forest was so lush with so many different plants. We saw the remains of a sugar plantation and the rum distillery. We saw monkeys and lots of sheep. We purchased some beautiful die work from Caribelle Batik. We loved the experience and highly recommend this trip.

Fun way to about St Kitts nature and history
christal_v, May 2022
Zidan was so knowledgeable about the island and medicinal uses of plants on the island. We got a much better feel for what it is like to live on St Kitts today, and what it was like during plantation times. We were very happy with the entire experience.
