What To Expect

Meet your friendly guide at the Philipsburg cruise port and board a comfortable, air-conditioned van for transport to your first beach stop. Onboard, enjoy complimentary refreshments like water, beer, soda and rum punch.

Arrive at St Maarten's longest beach, Orient Bay Beach, where you'll stay for approximately 2 hours. Spread out your towel and relax in the sand, wade or swim in the calm aqua waters, or visit some of the nearby beach bars and restaurants. Sailboats, jet skis and paragliding excursions are all available, as well as some kids' activities (at your own expense.)

Around midday, return to the vehicle for the trip to Maho Bay Beach. Famous for its proximity fo Princess Juliana International Airport, the beach is a great place to see jumbo jets fly in and out of the island. Stroll the white sand beach, lounge in the sand, or watch the waves crash on the rocky coast during your 2-hour stay here. Visit the Sunset Beach Bar and Grill for lunch (own expense) while listening to a live feed from the airport's control tower.

After your half day of fun in the sun and sand, enjoy drop-off back at the cruise port.

Great excursion. Highly recommended!

Humphrey, our driver and guide, was both fun and knowledgeable. He made the drive to Orient Bay and Maho Beach even more enjoyable. The rum punch was excellent! Also, Amigo Tours support provided clear instructions when we contacted them for directions to the pick up point. This made things easier for us. Both beaches were beautiful (although Maho Beach was packed in the afternoon). We loved watching the planes fly above our heads and land just behind us. It was truly exciting and a must-do experience. This excursion is highly recommended!

The only hitch was that the initial meeting location was hard to find, and we were a couple minutes late. After that everything was great. Driver was very informative and accommodating. Provided water, soda, beer or rum punch during the tour. Maho Beach was a blast!

Even though we had a problem with the van midway through, the problem was quickly resolved and we missed nothing. The guide was passionate about the island which made the tour enjoyable. Beach time was great. There was just enough time at each spot.

1st off, I did not receive ANY information where, when or what time to meet for this excursion. I wandered around looking for the tour for approximately 30 min. As I was waiting to see if I would get a text or info from the tour company, 2 ladies just happened to ask if I was on this tour. Thank god they did. We all 3 found the area to be in and left on the tour bus. It was air conditioned, and felt great. Orient beach was very nice. I was able to rent a chair and umbrella for a reasonable amount. Loved this beach. Maho beach was much busier, but still beautiful. Don, our tour guide and driver gave a lot of information about both sides of the island. The only reason I’m giving this tour 3 stars, is due to lack of information on where to meet.

We went on a family cruise with our kids and another family. We wanted to have a relaxing beach day but also wanted a little excitement. So we chose this excursion. We absolutely loved our driver and the experience was amazing.

We jet skied and parasailed at Orient Beach on the French side. Then we had lunch at Maho Beach which had delicious rice and peas and my favorite Johnny cake. We also saw at least 10 planes land/take off. Angelo, our guide, was very friendly and informative! This tour was awesome!! My only complaint is that it couldn’t last longer!

Great time at both Orient and Maho beaches. We didn’t see anyone nude at Orient as I was watching to direct my boys away if there was. Airplane beach was crowded but fun. The tour guide was awesome and did a great job explaining the area as we were driving. ***separate from the tour*** Once at Maho beach don’t pay the lady to go to the bathroom. They are taking advantage of tourists and it’s not right. They also charge $6 bucks to take a rinse shower per person, which is shameful. I was waiting for the charge to breath also.

The bus driver was very courteous and was great. The bad part was that viator didnt inform us that the tour was thru anothe tour company so we had a difficult time finding it. Also the tour took much longer than expected so we were worried about getting back to cruise ship on time. We had to persuade the driver to cut short the tour by an hour as it was getting too long and we were a long way from the cruise port. You need to state a specific return time and stick to that. The driver wasnt concerned about getting us back. We almost missed cruise ship departure.

Viator had us picked up by Amigos tour air conditioned van at or resort with waters and rum punch we proceeded to pick up passengers from cruise ships 18 all together but very comfortable. They were very organized in the process. Our driver Captain K was fun and very knowledgeable made us feel welcome to ask all questions. He brought us to Orient beach and Maho he was precise about times to meet up and where he would be. Orient had chair side food and drink service and Maho was a sight to see what a great day.

Driver King David was excellent, really knew his stuff. His run punch was so strong, but so much flavour. Loved the beaches, but would have liked more Tim at Maho beach, was disappointed that we only had one hour there, as that was our main reason for going on the trip. Meeting point directions for the start of the tour were rubbish and we nearly missed the bus. This was advertised as a half day excursion, but we weren’t back in port until 4, so beware of that.

Orient Beach was perfect. Ate and had some beers at Wai Plage. Beach was amazing. Sunset Beach was also great. Watching the planes come in while eating at Sunset Grill was the best.

Nice tour to relax on the beach

This was a shore excursion from a ship. Our guide and driver were excellent. The drives to Orient beach and Maho beach are very scenic, the guide pointed out interesting areas along the way and offered 2 hours at each beach. Both beaches are lovely spots to relax in the sun and enjoy the water. Maho beach is more congested than Orient beach as it is near the airport for aircraft landings and take offs. However, for us as first timers to Maho beach, that was the attraction to this tour.

Humphrey was knowledgeable, funny, professional, and fun. We had a blast! My only critique is for there to be better communication about where to meet in St. Maarten. The port is big and we had to ask around before we could find where to meet the shuttle. The excursion was wonderful 👍.
